Revell RSX Type-S by Andy Lilienthal

Revell's Tuner Series cars have been popular items. The newest car in this lineup is the Acura RSX Type S, which was the replacement for the aging Integra in 2002. The RSX Type S comes with a 200-horsepower 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine and one of the best-handling front-wheel drive chassis on the market.

This kit a part o Revell-Monogram's Tuner Series lineup. The body is molded in white styrene and has options for front and rear bumpers, side skirts, spoilers, seats, stereo equipment, wheels and air intakes.

The 120-plus parts are crisply molded with little flash, and parts fit is good, with a few exceptions: There's a gap between the top of the windshield and th body, and the hood hinges didn't want to snap into place under the dashboard (I cut off the hood struts and simply placed th hood on the body). The hood-to-bumper fit needed some work, too.

The car could sit a tad lower, but it's the best of the Tuner Series. The only stance snafu was the rear driver-side wheel, which stuck out farther than the passenger-side rear wheel.

I painted my model with Tamiya Olive Drab spray, because flat paint jobs have become a popular "this-car-means-business" scheme. The wheels wear flat black paint with Stoplight Red lub nuts to simulate anodized units. The decals were easy to apply and had good opacity. Overal, this kit was a joy to build and look great when assembled.
