Intermountain
HO & N scale freight cars
July, 2007
Intermountain has a wide variety of hoppers available in N scale. The first is a 4,750 cubic foot 3-bay rib hopper, followed by the ACF 4,650 cubic foot 3-bay covered hopper, and finally the Trinity 5,161 cubic foot hopper. Each hopper is fully assembled and ready to run in six roadnumbers unless noted otherwise. New 4,750 cubic foot 3-bay rib sided hoppers have been released for FMC painted gray with a black bottom and lettering, and red FMC logo in three roadnumber; Illinois Central painted dark gray with white lettering and IC logo; and Farmer's Co-Op in four different schemes for a total of twelve roadnumbers, painted read and white with white lettering.
An ACF 4,650 cubic foot 3-bay covered hopper is available for FMC. The car is painted gray with balck lettering. The FMC logo is in red on the sides of the car and it comes equipped with etched metal roofwalks and Micro-Trains trucks and couplers.
New Trinity 5,161 cubic foot hoppers have been released for BNSF painted in the newer BNSF scheme of boxcar red and white lettering with the "wedge" logo on the right side of the car. ADM painted gray with black lettering and the large blue ADM and "molecule" logog near the center of the car. Cargill painted gray with black lettering and the Cargill logo near the center of the car. FCTX painted all gray with black lettering and reporting marks. Illinois Central painted dark gray with white lettering and the white IC logo on the right side of the car. Southern Illinois Railcar painted a light gray with the red and black logo for SIRC on the right side. The cars come equipped with finely molded details, etched metal roofwalks, and Micro-Trains trucks and couplers.
N Scale SD40T-2
An SD40 T-2 has been released for Southern Pacific- Kodachrome. This paint scheme was used to mark the planned merger between the ATSF and the SP While the merger never went through, the locomotives that were painted ran for many years in these colors. Atotal of eight SD40T 2s were painted red and yellow, three of them with moot noses. The Intermountain model represents those three units and has numerous etched-metal details including windshield wipers and sunshades. Micro-Trains couplers come installed and it is DCC ready. The locomotive (#69409 )is available in three roadnumbers and has a suggested retail price of $119.95.
Also released is a 4,750 cubic foot, rib-sided, 3-bay covered hopper for MNS. The covered hopper is painted dark blue and has the MNS emblem on the lefts side of the car mounted on a placard. The car comes equipped with etched-metal roofwalks and Micro-Trains trucks and couplers. The hopper (#65353) has a suggested retail price of $21.95.
A 1937 AAR 40-loot boxcar has been released for Northern Pacific. The boxcar is painted boxcar red with white lettering and the NP herald is black, white, and red. The boxcar (#65703) comes equipped with Micro-Trains trucks and couplers and retails for $19.95.
An ACF 4,650 cubic foot, 3-bay hopper has been re-released for Cargill Salt. The bright green car features the Cargill logo on the sides and is equipped with etched-metal running boards and Micro Trains trucks and couplers.
An ACF 4,650 cubic foot, 3-bay covered hopper has been released for Wisconsin Central. This car is painted gray with black lettering and has the large "Wisconsin Central" logo in maroon. The model represents all four cars painted in this scheme. The car comes equipped with etched metal roofwalks and Micro-Trains trucks and couplers. The hopper (#67031) is available in four different roadnumbers and has a suggested retail price of $21.95.
A Centralia Car Shops P85 Passenger Coach has been re-released decorated fog Pennsylvania. Decorated in Pennsy's Tuscan red and gold lettering, this 44-seat coach comes equipped with working diaphragms window glazing, metal wheelsets, and Micro-trains trucks and couplers.
A Centralia Car Shops Pullman Standard 6-6-4 Sleeper has been re-released for ATSF This Sleeper is decorated for the Santa Fe it a two-tone gray scheme and has "Pullman' on the letterboard in silver along with silver stripes, window frames, and roof. The ca is equipped with 36-inch metal wheelset: and Micro-Trains couplers.
A Centralia Service Gondola has been re leased for D&RGW The composite gondola is decorated with a black body and whit "Flying Grande"
lettering. The car come equipped with MicroTrain trucks and couplers. The gondola (#68101) has a suggested retail price of $19.95.
FT Sets
Intermountain has announced the release of FT A and B sets in N scale as well as new rolling stock for N and HO scales. The models are fully assembled and are available in six roadnumbers unless noted.

InterMountain Goes Exclusive with Horizon
InterMountain Railway Company, Longmont, Colo., manufacturer of HO- and N-scale locomotives and rolling stock since 1998, announced the
appointment of Horizon Hobby, Champaign, Ill., as its exclusive outside distributor effective immediately. InterMountain, which previously had
distributed its products direct to the retailer and will continue that practice for those retailers that wish to maintain a direct relationship with the company.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for InterMountain to partner with one of the industry's finest in service, marketing, sales and distribution," stated
Frank Angstead, CEO of InterMountain. "This announcement will expose our products to more than 2,100 Horizon dealers and make our products
more accessible to consumers."

HO Scale EMD F-3A and Cylindrical Hoppers (December, 2004)
EMD F-3A and F-3B units have been released for CB&Q. In 1947, the Burlington Route purchased three A-B-A sets of F3 locomotives for use in passenger service. These distinctive units are painted aluminum with red and black lettering and stripes. Both A and B units have high fans, steam generators, no dynamic brakes, etched metal grills, and numerous wire grab irons. The units come complete with installed Kadee couplers and the Regal Line F unit drive, and are DCC ready.
The units are available in three roadnumbers powered, decorated, and assembled for $124.95 (#49117 - F3A) and $119.95 (#49617 - F-3B) or as "Smart" dummies for $94.95 (#49117SD - F-3A) and $89.95 (#49617SD - F3B).
A cylindrical covered hopper with round hatch has been released for North American. These cars are painted gray with black lettering and the North American herald is red and black. The hopper (#45203) comes equipped with etched-metal roofwalks, metal wheelsets, and Kadee no. 5 couplers, and has a suggested retail price of $29.95.
A 4,750 cubic foot, 3-bay covered hopper has been released for Delaware & Hudson. The car is orange with yellow lettering and the herald is yellow and black. It comes equipped with etched-metal roofwalks, metal wheelsets, and Kadee no. 5 couplers. The hopper (#45309) has a suggested retail price of $29.95.
An ACF Type 27, riveted 10,000-gallon tank car has been re-released for UTLX. The tank car is painted black with standard UTLX yellow lettering and is equipped with metal wheelsets and Kadee no. 5 couplers. The tank car (#46209) has a suggested retail price of $28.95.
An ACF Type 27, riveted 8,000-gallon tank car has been re-released for The Navy Gas & Supply Co. Painted aluminum with black lower section of tank and underframe, all lettering on the tank is black and frame decals are white. The Shell herald is yellow and black. The tank (#46310) comes equipped with metal wheelsets and Kadee no. 5 couplers, and has a suggested retail price of $27.95.
An R-40-10 refrigerator car - premium line has been released for Illinois Central. The car has a yellow body, green stripes, and olive green ends. It comes equipped with metal wheelsets, laser-cut wood running boards, and Kadee couplers. The refrigerator car (#46707P) has a suggested retail price of $31.95.
An ACF 4,650 cubic foot, 3-bay hopper has been released for ECC. This hopper has a white body and blue lettering for ECC International. The cars come equipped with an etched-metal roofwalk, metal wheelsets, and Kadee no. 5 couplers. The tank car (#47028) has a suggested retail price of $29.95.
A Pinnacle Series Pullman-Standard 5,277 cubic foot boxcar has been re-released for Railbox. The car has a bright yellow body with black door and silver roof and the larger "next load, any road" arrows. The car is equipped with wire underbody piping and grab irons, etched-metal endwalls, metal wheelsets, and Kadee no. 78 couplers. The boxcar (#47502) is available in twelve different roadnumbers and retails for $31.95.
A Pinnacle Series Pulluman-Standard 5,277 cubic foot boxcar has been released for Green Bay and Western. The GB&W rostered a fleet of 30 of these boxcars decorated in yellow with their white and red log and black lettering. The car is equipped with wire underbody piping and grab irons, etched-metal endwalls, metal wheelsets, and Kadee no. 78 couplers. The boxcar (#47506) is available for $31.95.

Intermountain releases new locomotives and rolling stock - May 2004
N Scale
An SD40T 2 is now available in N scale. The Tunnel Motor series continues with the SP "Snoot Nose" with Roman Lettering. The locomotive is gray with red ends and light gray lettering. Etched metal detail parts, prototype specific details like: air conditioners, horns, and bells, and a DCC-ready drive complete this model. The locomotive (#69405) has Atlas operating couplers and retails for $119.95.
Intermountain's fourth release in the Tunnel Motor series features the SP "Speed Lettering" scheme. Prototype specific details such as horns, bells, air conditioners, fuel tank, and lots of etched metal parts complete the model, which is DCC ready and comes equipped with Atlas operating couplers. The locomotive (#69407) retails for $119.95.
A wood refrigerator car has been released for Western Fruit Express. This all-new body style features molded on grab irons, Atlas trucks and operating couplers, and separate ladders. The car is painted yellow with boxcar red ends and roof and is lettered for Western Fruit Express with a small circular goat herald. The boxcar (#67702) retails for $18.95.
A 12 panel 40 foot boxcar has been released for Great Northern. The car is painted vermillion red with white Empire Builder style lettering and the large goat herald is white and black. The boxcar (#66005) is equipped with Atlas trucks and operating couplers and retails for $18.95.
A USRA composite drop bottom gondola has been released for Minneapolis & St. Louis. The car is painted black with white lettering and is produced with real laser-cut wood side panels and floors. The gondola (#66611) is equipped with Atlas trucks and operating couplers and retails for $18.95.
An ACF 4,650 cubic foot 3-bay hopper is available for Great Northern. These cars are painted big sky blue with the large white GN goat herald and are equipped with etched metal running board and Atlas trucks and operating couplers. The hopper (#67010) retails for 19.95
An ACF 4,650 cubic foot 3-bay hopper has been released for Continental. The car is painted light gray with large black "Continental" lettering on the sides and features etched metal roof walks and Atlas trucks and operating couplers. The hopper (#67022) retails for $19.95.
HO Scale
EMD F3A and F3B units are now available for New York Central. These completely assembled models are painted in New York Central's striking "Lightning Stripe" gray and black paint scheme. They feature wire handrails, grab irons, and lift rings. The locomotives come complete with etched metal grilles and installed Kadee couplers, and are DCC ready with an NMRA eight pin socket.
The locomotives are available powered, decorated, assembled for $124.95 (#49101 - F3A) and $119.95 (#49601 - F3B) or as a "SMART" dummy for $94.95 (#49101SD - F3A) and $89.95 (#49601SD - F3B).
A P85 passenger coach has been released for PRR. Produced in cooperation with Centralia Car Shops, these all-new cars are claimed to be the most detailed plastic HO scale passenger cars ever. Featuring complete underbody detailing, separate wire grab irons, newly tooled die-cast metal trucks with 36 inch metal wheelsets, and Kadee couplers, these cars are ready to place in service. Intermountain's new D&RGW FT A and B set features the early black with yellow stripes paint scheme including the small "Rio Grande" on both sides of the headlight. These units come equipped with operating couplers on the front of the A unit and the back of the B unit. A cylindrical covered hopper with trough hatch has been released for Canada. The hopper is painted red with white Canada lettering, gold wheat sheaths, dimensional data, white reporting marks for CNWX or CPWX and reflectors. The bright color scheme is contrasted with a black roof and walk, hopper bays, and end ladders. The hopper (CNWX #65101 or CPWX #65102) is available in six different roadnumbers and has a suggested retail price of $19.95 each.
A 4,750 cubic foot 3 bay covered hopper has been released for Terra Chemicals, located in Sioux City, Iowa. The hopper (#65331) is painted black with white and yellow lettering and has a suggested retail price of $18.95.
A 50 foot AAR standard double door boxcar has been released for Pennsylvania. The car is painted boxcar red with white lettering and Circle Keystone Herald. These cars were automobile boxcars and were road class X38. The boxcar (#65613) has a suggested retail price of $18.95.
An ACF center flow 2-bay hopper has been released for MKT The 2-bay hoppers are painted dark green with yellow lettering. The cars have a 2,980 cubic foot capacity and are primarily used for hauling cement. Etched metal running boards are included on these models. The hopper (#66502) is available in six different roadnumbers and has a suggested retail price of $18.95.

An A-Line thrall container well car has been released for APL. This version of the Thrall five unit container car is painted blue with white lettering. The car consists of two end units and three intermediate units all with a 40 foot container capacity in the well. The thrall car (#47302) is available in four different roadnumbers and has a suggested retail price of $99.95 for a five car set.

A cylindrical covered hopper with trough hatch has been released for Alberta. Painted blue with yellow lettering, these grain cars were decorated with the "Take an Alberta Break" slogan encouraging tourists to visit different locations. The hopper (#65117 ALNX, or #65118 - ALPX) has a suggested retail price of $21.95.
A 4,750 cubic foot rib-sided 3 bay covered hopper has been released for Santa Fe. The car is painted light gray with light blue Santa Fe lettering. The warning note is yellow and all other lettering is black. The hopper (#65333) has a suggested retail price of $18.95.

A 1937 AAR 40 foot boxcar has been released for Western Maryland. The car is painted oxide red with white lettering and has the "Fast Freight Route" herald emblazoned on the right hand side. The boxcar (#65745) has a suggested retail price of $18.95.
A twelve panel, 40 foot boxcar has been released for Great Northern. The car is painted glacier green with white Empire Builder style lettering. The Goat Herald is red, white, and blue. The boxcar (#66011) has a suggested retail price of $18.95 and is available in eight different roadnumbers.
A USRA composite drop bottom gondola has been released for CB&Q The hopper is painted boxcar red with white lettering. The car represents the prototype cars with real wood sides and floors. The detail is engraved into the wood panels with laser technology. The hopper (#66601) has a suggested retail price of $19.95.

An A-line Thrall container well car has been released for TTX. The first time assembled in HO scale and the second in a series of cars from A-line, this version of the Thrall 5 unit container car is painted for Trailer Train in yellow with black lettering. The car consists of two end units and three intermediate units all with a 40 foot container capacity in the well. The series (#47301) has a suggested retail price of $99.95 per five car set (four different roadnumbers in all).
A USRA twin-bay open hopper has been released for Baltimore & Ohio The hopper is painted black with large white "B&O" lettering and features Kadee no. 5 couplers, formed metal grab irons, and Andrews trucks with 33 inch brass metal wheelsets. A total of six individual roadnumbers are available. The hopper (#T452902) has a suggested retail price of $32.95.

N Scale
A 4750 cubic foot 3-bay covered hopper has been released for General Chemical. General Chemical uses these cars to transport a wide variety of powdered and pelletized chemicals. This car comes with etched metal running boards and is painted Pullman Standard light gray with blue and black lettering. The hopper (#65348) has a suggested retail price of $19.95 and is available in six different roadnumbers.
An ACF center flow 2-bay hopper has been released for MIC7: These cars have a 2,980 cu. ft. capacity and are primarily used for hauling cement. The 2-bay hopper is painted dark green with yellow lettering and includes etched metal running boards. The hopper (#66502) has a suggested retail price of $18.95.
HO Scale
A cylindrical covered hopper with trough hatch has been released for Canada. The cars
are painted red and black with white and gold lettering, and are lettered with either CNWX or CPWX reporting marks, and come equipped with Kadee no. 5 couplers and 33 inch blackened metal wheelsets. The hopper (#45101-CNWX or #45102-CPWX) has a suggested retail price of $29.95 and is available in six different roadnumbers.
A 50 foot PS-1 single door boxcar without roofwalk has been released for Seaboard Coast Line. Intermountain has release EMD F-7A (Phase I) and F7-B units decorated for Great Northern. The latest in Intermountain's series of "second generation" F7 paint schemes, these locomotives are painted GN "Big Sky Blue" with broad white stripes and the familiar goat herald on the side.

Intermountain has announced the release of their new FT A & B unit sets decorated for Santa Fe. Perhaps the most recognizable diesel paint scheme of all time was Santa Fe's red and silver "Warbonnet." Intermountain has reproduced this paint scheme on their new N scale FT locomotive. The A unit features side number boxes and a dual headlight. The B unit includes the fifth porthole on one side. Both include Phase III dynamic brakes, etched metal grills (rooftop etched metal parts are black to represent exhaust), and wire handrails. A twelve panel 40 foot boxcar has been released fully assembled for Grand Canyon. These cars model the Santa Fe's Bx48 class, and feature mineral red ends and sides, black roof, and mineral red running boards. One side has a straight line Santa Fe system map, the other features the "Grand Canyon Line" slogan.
A fully assembled ACF 4650 cubic foot 3-bay hopper has been released for Cargil Salt. The first in a series of "private owner" covered hoppers, the bright green car features the Cargill logo on the sides. The hopper includes etched metal running boards and operating N scale couplers. Intermountain has released an FT A and B unit set for the Santa Fe "Catwhisker II" (#69001). The first Santa Fe road freight diesel scheme was yellow and blue with a thin red pinstripe. Later, the pinstripe was eliminated behind the side cab doors, creating this variation commonly called "Catwhisker II." The A unit features the large side number boxes and single headlight. The B unit includes the extra porthole on one side. These models feature Phase I (unique to the Santa Fe) dynamic brake hatches, blackened roof etched metal parts, and etched, painted metal grille covers on the side. Tichy Train Group: A 36 foot 2-bay rebuilt panel side hopper car has been released fully assembled for New York Central. Intermountain has announced the first, fully assembled and decorated Tichy HO scale freight car. The first offering is the rebuilt USRA hopper. A fully assembled Lonestar trailmobile 40 foot flamed trailer has been released. The car features laser-cut wood decks and detail. Painted in trailmobile red, these trailers can be seen all over the country.
