East Front The War in Russia, 1941-45: On June 22, 1941, Germany launched a surprise blitzkreig on Russia under the code name Barbarossa, beginning a titanic four year struggle that remains the greatest military struggle in history. Few westerners realize how much WWII was decided on the steppes of Russia. The Soviets fought and defeated the main strength of the German army, losing 13 million men in the process. By comparison, the Allies lost a third of a million in North Africa, Italy, France and Germany. By D-Day, the Wehrmacht was already a beaten army in the East.
West Front, The War in Europe, 1943-45: On July 9, 1943, Patton's US Seventh Army and Montgomery's British Eighth Army invaded the southeast coast of Sicily, the Allied opening move for the Liberation of Europe. After a year of bitter fighting in Italy, the Allies then invaded Normandy on June 6, 1944, the most hazardous and fateful military operation of the war. Its success led to defeat of Germany by May '45. West Front depicts these two years of warfare in a tense struggle between a formidable land power and a dominate air/sea power. The German player must (with 80% of his army fighting to the death against Russia on the East Front) find a way to defend over 3000 miles of coastline, because Allied invasions may strike anywhere from Denmark to Greece.
Quebec 1759: Quebec 1759 is a unique strategy game depicting the historic campaign and battle between French and British forces for control of North America. The game is played on a colorful mapboard with counters which represent the actual regiments, militia, Indians, and naval forces that served in the campaign. If strategic cunning is your forte, Quebec 1759 gives you the chance to restage this dramatic event and influence its outcome. The game is historically accurate, and usually ends with a decisive Battle of the Plains of Abraham, as did the actual campaign. The British won the historical event; in this simulation the French player can reverse the result of that fateful summer of 1759.
Med Front: In 1936 the first skirmish in the looming world war between fascism and democracy broke out in Spain. After three years of bitter civil war, General Franco's rebellion, with German and Italian aid, finally subdued the Republican government forces. Franco's victory emboldened Hitler to risk a greater war. Just months after the Spanish Civil War ended, Germany invaded Poland. Nine months later, the conflict expanded into the Mediterranean when Italy joined the Axis and invaded Egypt from Libya, only to be humiliated by British armor. Germany came to her ally's aid, sending Rommel and a panzer corps to Africa. The arrival of the "Afrika Korps" heralded a two year desert campaign marked by mobility, abrupt reversals of fortune, chaotic supply, and outstanding generalship on both sides. The British 8th Army, led by Montgomery, eventually triumphed at Alamein in October 1942. One month later, the "Torch" invasion of Morocco and Algeria by American and British forces checkmated Axis ambition in Africa.
War of 1812: In July 1812, the young American republic sought to redress grievances against Britain by declaring war and invading British territory (Canada) to the north. After a bitter thirty month struggle known as the War of 1812, the conflict ended in a negotiated stalemate, each side having failed to gain any real advantage. Since then, historians have debated the result of this dramatic war, and both sides have claimed victory. This game simulates the War of 1812 and sheds some light on the problems facing both sides. Designed for two players, one commanding the American forces, the other the British forces, The game deals with all the essential elements of that conflict, including the roles of militia and Indians, problems of supply in winter, and the dramatic naval battles to gain control of the Great Lakes. The essential object for both players is to defeat each other's military and naval forces, capture important enemy towns, and generally seek to accumulate enough victory points to win the game. While luck (fortune of war) is a factor in play, the game has been designed so that the skill of the players will decide the outcome of most games.
Eurofront: defines and regulates the play of a combined "mega-game" of WWII in the European Theater. It is NOT an independent game. Ownership of East Front, West Front, and Med Front are required, and preferably Volga Front as well. Eurofront adds Polish, French, Yugoslavian, Greek, Belgian, Dutch, and Danish units to the game, allowing the entire war in Europe 1939-45 to be played. Scenarios for each year of the war are included. EuroFront does not require players to mimic historical events and campaigns. The diplomatic rules can generate countless variations as to which nations become engulfed in war, with whom, and when. The great appeal of strategic gaming lies in the "what-ifs" of military history: EuroFront allows you to investigate as many options as you can imagine.
Napoleon, Waterloo Campaign 1815: On June 18, 1815, one of the most decisive battles in military history was fought in Belgian fields twenty miles southeast of Brussels. Within a short 100 days, Napoleon, former Emperor of France, had returned from exile on the island of Elba, again seized power, quickly assembled an army, and marched to defeat the dispersed British and Prussian armies now preparing to invade France. Napoleon invaded Belgium on June 15th, defeated the Prussians at the Battle of Ligny on the 16th and, after a day of pursuit, faced the British and Dutch army commanded by Wellington. Aided by superb defensive tactics and the timely arrival of Prussian reinforcements, Wellington defeated the French in the great Battle of Waterloo, ending forever the military ambitions of the great Napoleon.
Sam Grant, Civil War in the West 1862-64: Sam Grant brings to life the most dramatic event in American history, the Civil War. The game covers the war in the western theater, focusing on the three year struggle for Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Tennessee. Rules to link Sam Grant with Bobby Lee (our game on the eastern theater) are included. The historical campaigns of Shiloh, Vicksburg, Chickamauga, and Atlanta can be restaged, or players can devise their own "war-winning" strategies.
Bobby Lee, The American Civil War 1861-65: Bobby Lee brings to life the most dramatic military event in American history, the Civil War. The game covers the war in the east, focusing on the one hundred miles between the two rival capitals of Richmond and Washington. For four years, the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia, commanded by the incomparable Robert E. Lee, defended these few bloody miles against overwhelming Union strength in men and materiel. This was the scene of most major battles of the war, including First and Second Bull Run, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville and Gettysburg, and the Valley, Peninsula, and Wilderness campaigns. You can restage all of these campaigns, or experiment with your own "war-winning" strategies.
