1/72 Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf. F1 ~ Armor Pro Series

"Dragon has now released well over 100 models in its popular 1/72 scale AFV series. As if this wasn't a milestone enough, Dragon is now pleased to announce a groundbreaking release. For the first time ever, Dragon has created a 1/72 scale Panzer IV tank! Building upon Dragon's extensive experience and expertise in 1/35 scale Panzer IV kits, the first release is a Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.F1.

The Panzer IV (Sd.Kfz.161) formed the mainstay of German panzer divisions, and it holds the distinction of being the only German tank to remain in production throughout the course of WWII. This tank, numerically the most common with 8500 produced, underwent a series of improvements to improve its armament and armor protection. The Ausf. F1 was manufactured from April 1941 to March 1942. Armed with a short-barreled 75mm KwK37 L/24 gun, a total of more than 450 were produced, although a number were later converted to F2 status. Other unique distinguishing features were a new turret design (with thicker armor, and two-piece side doors), plus new drive sprockets and idler wheels to accommodate wider 400mm tracks.

Dragon's new model accurately reflects all these key personality traits, and indeed, the model is completely new except for the road wheels! It has benefited tremendously from technical know-how and research conducted in creating its 1/35 scale brothers. Dragon is thus justifiably proud of this new Panzer IV kit, which is undoubtedly the best available on the market in terms of accuracy, detail and proportions. For those small-scale modelers interested in early Panzers, this kit will be an instant hit!

1/35 U.S. Marines Guadacanal 1942 (4 Figures set)

The Battle of Guadalcanal was fought in the air, and on the land and sea, between August 7, 1942 and February 7, 1943. Located in the southern Solomon Islands, Japanese troops stationed on Guadalcanal were well positioned to threaten Allied shipping routes, plus they helped defend the major Japanese base at Rabaul. The Battle of Guadalcanal represented the first major Allied offensive against the Japanese, and it marked a strategic victory and turning point for the Allies. The battle pitted 60,000 Allied ground troops against 36,200 Japanese soldiers, and the bloody conflagration resulted in approximately 7,000 Allied and 30,000 Japanese deaths.

Dragon's new 1/35 scale figure set depicts a group of four U.S. Marines fighting in this epic battle. It perfectly captures the tension and apprehension of a typical jungle patrol in enemy-infested territory. The Marines are wearing M1941 utility coats and trousers. In keeping with the time period of the battle, they carry such weapons as newly tooled Springfield M1903 rifles and Reising M50 submachine guns. The beauty of these figures is that they can also be used for later Pacific campaigns if modelers choose to exchange their weapons for M1 Garands or Thompson submachine guns. This is a very versatile set of figures, and it will prove invaluable for those wishing to depict the Pacific Theater of Operations in greater detail.

The Allied D-Day landings on 6 June 1944 marked the first successful opposed landings across the English Channel in nine centuries. The massive assault on Hitler's much-vaunted Atlantic Wall was also the largest single-day amphibious invasion of all time. A total of 130,000 soldiers went ashore on 6 June, while a million men had been landed in this sector of northern France within a month. These Allied soldiers were supported by all sorts of armored vehicles, with the ubiquitous M4 Sherman tank being chief among them. Dragon's newest 1/35 scale kit portrays just such an M4 tank that participated in the Normandy campaign. Modelers will need to take note that this is much more than just another Sherman kit, for it has been specifically designed as a Normandy veteran!

The M4 variant, powered by a Continental radial engine and armed with a 75mm main gun, was deployed by American, British, Polish and Canadian units. This broad range of users in the tense battles for Normandy opens up new possibilities for modelers of this kit. This exciting new release, the first from Dragon in 2009, shows a welded-hull variant. This kit has received many new parts and extensive retooling to accurately replicate particular M4 characteristics like the thickened armor plates on the turret sides. Newly tooled components include a slide-molded upper hull, turret, engine deck and rear engine-compartment doors. The T51 tracks made from DS are also brand new. Multimedia parts such as photo-etched sand-shield brackets and engine ventilator covers are also included. For modelers wishing to depict a Sherman fighting through the thick Normandy hedgerows and bocage, or dueling with Panthers and Tigers of desperate German defenders, this kit is a dream come true!

The Jagdpanther is not only an attractive-looking war machine, but it was also perhaps the most effective tank destroyer of WWII. A total of 392 Jagdpanthers (Hunting Panthers) were manufactured, each mounting an 8.8cm PaK43/3 main gun on a modified Panther chassis and hull. Production commenced in January 1944 and the first vehicles were issued to combat units in June. Although most served on the Eastern Front, a large number were collected and used in the Battle of Bulge in December 1944. Dragon has just released a 1/35 scale kit of the Late Production variant. Late Production vehicles can be identified by such modifications as a bolted mantlet collar, two-piece PaK43/4 gun barrel, single vision slot for the driver, revised roof for the fighting compartment, flash-suppressor exhaust pipes, and a cooling fan for the crew compartment heater.

Dragon's model is bristling with a sensational level of detail. The kit is based on the hugely popular Jagdpanther G1 Early Production (Item No. 6458), but it has been modified with newly tooled parts to represent all the relevant characteristics of the Late version. The sophisticated curved shape of the gun mantlet has also been masterfully recreated. This new Jagdpanther variant has quite a different look to the previously released kit, and it constitutes a perfect subject for modelers building up a scene from late in WWII. This Jagdpanther is ready to do some serious hunting!

1/700 German Battleship "Tirpitz" ~ Premium Edition

Features:
- Newly tooled command bridge made from slide molds
- Photo-etched parts to update mast and radar details
- Funnel is new tooling with great detail
- Turrets w/rivet details
- Auxiliary boats and aircraft made from clear parts
- Photo-etched parts to update railings and superstructure details
- Options to build waterline or display model w/full hull

The Tirpitz was the second largest battleship ever built in Europe, although perhaps it didn't achieve the same fame as its sister ship, the Bismarck. Named after Admiral Alfred von Tirpitz, this battleship that was commissioned in 1941 never actually fired its guns against an enemy vessel. Dragon has released an impressive 1/700 scale Premium Edition kit of the Tirpitz. The dramatic box art portrays this mighty battleship participating in Operation Sizilien, the German raid on Spitsbergen, Norway, in September 1943. The Tirpitz and Scharnhorst bombarded Allied defenders on the island as a battalion of German troops landed in a temporary occupation. In fact, this was the only time in her career that the Tirpitz fired her guns in anger. After this operation the battleship moved south to Tromsø where it lurked in German bases.

At this time the Tirpitz was dubbed the 'Lonely Queen of the North' until it was sunk by Tallboy bombs dropped from Lancaster bombers on November 12, 1944. Even though this kit is based on a hot earlier release, it has received a plethora of improvements. For instance, it has benefited from a completely new command bridge and funnel to replace the vinyl items in the previous kit. Some parts are slide molded, while a generous selection of photo-etched parts such as masts, radars and railings add finesse. Modelers have the choice of building a waterline or full-hull version of this mighty German warship. This tiptop Premium Edition Tirpitz kit will look breathtaking in any ship collection.

1/35 "Hunting the Partisans" Yugoslavia 1943 (4 Figures Set)

Yugoslavia was invaded on April 6, 1941, and formal resistance barely lasted ten days. However, the German-led occupation proved particularly harsh, which contributed to a large-scale partisan campaign to fight against the Axis occupiers. Resistance was organized mainly by the communists under the leadership of Tito. What started as a guerilla war in the first three years evolved into more conventional warfare from the second half of 1944 onwards. By the war's end, Tito's Partisans numbered 800,000 and were organized into four field armies. The Partisans were a constant threat to occupying forces, and fighting was vicious as Axis troops attempted to neutralize this threat in a series of offensives.

Dragon's latest 1/35 scale figure set is a novel one featuring Axis soldiers fighting Yugoslav Partisans. In the box there are three German soldiers from Prinz Eugen, a mountain division that spent the war campaigning against guerillas in the Balkans. The fourth soldier is an Italian, meaning this set offers tremendous versatility to modelers. Each figure is vividly sculpted in combat poses, and they display an assortment of uniforms and weapons. The centerpiece of the set is a machinegun team shooting from a makeshift firing point. Of interest is that the machinegun team members are provided with two sets of legs! This means they can be posed on either sloped or flat terrain. A 'plastic rock' that the prone soldier is leaning on is also contained in the set. True to reality, the German soldiers carry a variety of weapons as this ad hoc formation does battle in the mountainous terrain of Yugoslavia some time in 1943. With its German-Italian combination, this valuable set allows figure modelers to depict a theater of WWII that doesn't receive the attention it merits.

1/35 8.8cm Raketenwerfer 43 (Püppchen) w/Fallschirmjäger

Dragon has just come out with a real doll of a kit…or to be more exact, with a 'dolly' of a kit! The subject is the 8.8cm Raketenwerfer 43, which was nicknamed 'Püppchen' (Dolly) by its German users. This light weapon was a rocket launcher that in standard configuration was mounted on a two-wheel carriage. (In some cases, the carriage could be removed and the weapon mounted on two ski-like runners). Developed from the effective 8.8cm Panzerschreck (RPzB 54) rocket launcher, it differed in having a sliding breechblock that gave the rocket greater velocity and thus a longer range. The Püppchen had a maximum effective antitank range of around 230m, and around 1000 systems are thought to have been manufactured from 1944 onwards. Its light construction (149kg) meant it could be damaged if towed at high speeds behind vehicles, but its light weight was beneficial when it needed to be manhandled by its crew.

This latest 1/35 scale Püppchen kit adds something novel to the mix since the box contains two complete 'dollies' and their crews. One of the weapons is in a prepared firing position ready to take out an enemy vehicle, while the second weapon is being moved to a new position. All seven crewmen are German paratroopers (Fallschirmjäger), and they are well sculpted in lifelike poses. The Püppchen weapons may be small but they are extremely well detailed. This set offers unprecedented versatility with two complete weapons and crews included. They can be modeled alongside each other, or can be inserted into separate vignettes. Whatever the modeler chooses, they are sure to be delighted with their new 'dolly'!

Although it didn't appear in the same numbers as the more common Sd.Kfz. 251, the Sd.Kfz. 250 halftrack played a vital part in the German WWII war effort. Similar in appearance to its larger stable mate, the Sd.Kfz. 250 was based on the chassis of the Sd.Kfz. 10 prime mover. Although the design was accepted in 1939, delays meant it didn't go into production until June 1941. The armored body of this halftrack was complex, so a version with a simplified body went into production in October 1943 as the neue art ("new version"). It is this "Neu" version that is represented in Dragon's latest 1/35 scale kit.

This new Premium Edition kit features an Sd.Kfz. 250/8 Neu. It is based on Dragon's latest Sd.Kfz. 250/1 that sported a number of completely new and upgraded components. The 250/8 was a support version featuring a 7.5cm gun that was issued to reconnaissance companies. The kit portrays the 7.5cm K.51 L/24 gun, which was the final version of the weapon installed on a unified mount in this halftrack. The gun is represented in amazing detail from the rifled barrel to the basket for spent ammo casings. To further improve the kit, the side armor is thinly made to accurately portray the true thickness of the armor plates. As a Premium Edition item, this Sd.Kfz. 250/8 is highly detailed and easy to assemble. For modelers who like German halftracks, this up-to-date example will provide a powerful punch!

1/35 German Armored Infantry France 1940 "Blitzkrieg in France!" (4 Figures Set)

Germany began executing its carefully thought out blitzkrieg strategy on France and the Low Countries on May 10, 1940. The sudden attack shattered the nervous calm of the Phony War, and it met with immediate success. In Fall Rot (Case Red) of the campaign, German forces outflanked the Maginot Line, and within a matter of days Paris had fallen and French forces had capitulated en masse. Even though the Allies had a clear numerical advantage in artillery and tanks, the Germans were able to produce a spectacular victory thanks to superior tactics.

Dragon's newest 1/35 scale set of figures commemorates a scene commonly played out during the French campaign. The set depicts two Wehrmacht infantrymen capturing two bewildered French tank crewmen in the time period of June 1940. The pair of surrendering Frenchmen is dressed in typical tank crew uniforms and headgear of the period, while the two German soldiers sport early-war uniforms and weapons such as an MP-28 sub-machinegun. Each of these figures is extremely well sculpted, and they capture the essence of respective victory or defeat. The set portrays a unique yet common scene that will have numerous applications for figure and tank modelers. Indeed, the set tells a vivid story of Germany's seemingly undefeatable blitzkrieg strategy…as German forces steamrolled over French resistance.

1/6 German 8cm Granatwerfer 34

It wasn't until WWII that the mortar came into its own as an infantry support weapon. Mobile and capable of indirect fire, it was a highly effective light artillery weapon. Germany's standard medium mortar throughout WWII was the 8cm Granatwerfer 34 (which translates as "grenade projector/launcher"), or 8cm Gr.W.34 for short. This mortar had been designed by Rheinmetall in 1932, and it proved a reliable and accurate system. The complete mortar weighed 57kg, and it could launch a 3.5kg shell out to a range of 2400m. It was capable of a rate of fire of 15-25 rounds per minute in the hands of a well-trained crew. The success of the 8cm Gr.W.34 is seen in that a total of more than 70,000 mortars were produced throughout the course of WWII.

"Dragon's newest 1/6 scale weapon is this famous German mortar. This exciting kit represents the weapon in a number of separate parts, with each component finely reproduced. Slide molds have been employed to ensure crisply molded details. To make it even more versatile, and to suit the creative aspirations of modelers, the bipod and barrel can be adjusted to different angles. Its appeal is enhanced by the inclusion of a wooden ammo box and associated ammo rounds. Markings on the box are provided in the form of Cartograf decals. This Granatwerfer 34 kit is impressive in its size and detail, and it would look even more stunning when combined with appropriate 1/6 scale figures in a dioramic setting.

This kit consists of over 50 parts including a complete 1/6 8cm mortar, and its ammo box can be assembled."

1/35 Panzergrenadiers, Cherkassy 1944 (4 Figures Set)

It is said, "Cherkassy was no military victory - but was not our salvation from certain destruction a kind of victory?" Fought from January 24till February 16 1944, the Battle of the Korsun-Cherkassy Pocket involved 60,000 German troops and 70 armored vehicles squeezed in a desperate cauldron (kessel in German) by Red Army troops. At the time, the Russians were confidently predicting a second Stalingrad. In the event, an effort was organized to relieve the beleaguered German troops now consumed with "kessel fever". Amidst fierce fighting and scenes of carnage, perhaps 36,000 German soldiers managed to break out through a tenuous bridgehead termed "Hell's Gate".

Dragon's newest 1/35 scale figure set recalls this dramatic battle on the Eastern Front. The set presents four panzergrenadier figures from a reconnaissance unit clad in a typically varied collection of winter gear, including an officer wearing a fur cap with one earflap folded down. The individual figures are vividly posed and sharply detailed as they conduct a recon operation and field briefing as they search for an escape route from the Cherkassy cauldron. Obviously, the figures are suitable for modeling any winter operation, and as suggested by the box-top artwork, they would fit nicely in a scene with Dragon's 1/35 scale Sd.Kfz. 250 halftrack.

1/72 Sd.Kfz.251/1 Ausf.D + 7.5cm PaK 40

The 7.5cm PaK 40 antitank gun was developed by Rheinmetall in 1939-41, with its development becoming more urgent after heavier Russian tanks were encountered in Operation Barbarossa in 1941. Entering service in November 1941, the PaK 40 soon became the standard German antitank gun of WWII with 23,500 pieces produced. Dragon has been busy producing its own 1/72 scale model kit version of the 7.5cm PaK 40, and it has succeeded in creating the best miniature model currently available on the market. The gun is completely new-tooled, and its versatility is enhanced by its ability to be displayed in either towing or combat mode.

With a combat weight of 1425kg, the PaK 40 required a prime mover with sufficient power to move it around the battlefield.
Dragon has provided the perfect towing vehicle in the form of an Sd.Kfz. 251/1 Ausf.D. This model of the famous German halftrack is packed with detail, including an open-topped fighting compartment. This highly attractive halftrack-and-antitank-gun set provides modelers with a powerful combination for use against Allied tanks. Since the PaK 40 was used in all theaters, it is equally at home fighting against T-34 tanks on the Eastern Front or M4 Shermans on the Western Front!

1/6 Bazooka Set, M1 & M9

The M1 bazooka was first issued to American troops in November 1942 for Operation Torch, though its secret introduction certainly backfired since few soldiers received instruction on how to use them! Despite such an inauspicious beginning, bazookas grew in usefulness during WWII to the point that General Eisenhower described it as one of four "Tools of Victory" that won the war for the Allies. The M9 bazooka was introduced in late 1943, though its increased performance was negated by thicker armor on German tanks. However, the bazooka could not only be used against tanks, for it proved highly effective against enemy emplacements such as concrete bunkers. Perhaps one of the bazookas greatest accolades was that it inspired Germany to create its own Panzerschreck of 8.8cm caliber.

This famous "Tool of Victory" has been recreated precisely in 1/6 scale by Dragon's engineers. The injection-molded plastic kit includes parts to make two complete bazookas - an M1 and an M9. Detail is stunning on these large-scale reproductions, and they even include cloth shoulder straps as well. The bazookas come with the requisite rocket ammo, these being accurately sculpted. The M1 bazooka even has a wooden stock. Just like the real thing, the two-piece M9 bazooka tube can be separated into two parts for ease of transport. These bazookas are a handy accessory for 1/6 scale figures, or make interesting models in their own right.

Dragon's 1/35 scale kits with molded-on Zimmerit in the form of a Kingtiger Porsche, Kingtiger Henschel and Panther Ausf. D were welcomed with open arms by modelers of all persuasions, whether newcomers or experienced. The ready-made Zimmerit on the kits saves hours of labor for modelers. It also offers an instant solution to the problem of accurately portraying this unique German anti-magnetic paste. Dragon has added a spectacular new kit to the Zimmerit family, one that has been long awaited and eagerly anticipated…a Tiger I Late Production!

The Tiger I is an iconic tank of WWII, and its legendary status extends well beyond the limited number of 1355 that were built. Armed with an 8.8cm KwK 36 L/56 main gun and a pair of MG34 machineguns, this massive tank was fortified with armor up to 110mm thick. Building upon Dragon's masterly 1/35 Tiger kits previously released, this newest big cat comes with a full coating of Zimmerit. In fact, it's Dragon's first 1/35 Tiger I with Zimmerit, and it's the result of detailed research. This Zimmerit is produced to an extremely high quality, both in terms of the correct pattern and the scale effect of the texture. The kit utilizes all the innovations and detail of Dragon's Tiger I Late Production, but this kit receives a brand new turret, upper hull, lower hull and rear panel in order to show off the Zimmerit. This is truly a masterpiece that blends computerized technology with the touch of the skilled sculptor. The U.S. Army made widespread use of the M2/M3 halftrack throughout WWII in all theaters of combat. This popular and versatile chassis spawned a variety of uses, one of them being a Gun Motor Carriage (GMC), a halftrack that mounted a 75mm antitank gun. As the USA witnessed the devastating power of German Blitzkrieg tactics in 1940, an urgent call went out to produce tank destroyers. The GMC M3, mounting an M1897A4 75mm gun, was one urgent solution standardized in October 1941. More than 2,200 such vehicles were produced, though only 842 saw service since the remainder were converted back to standard troop carriers. The GMC M3 saw combat with the U.S. Army in the Philippines (where some captured examples were actually used against American forces in 1944!), Tunisia and North Africa (e.g. the Battle of Kasserine Pass) and Sicily. After that, they were phased out in favor of the far more effective M10 tank destroyer, though many soldiered on with the USMC in the Pacific theater well into 1945. Other nations used them too, including Great Britain and France.

As part of its stunning M2/M3 halftrack series, Dragon is pleased to announce the GMC M3. Notably, this is the first 1/35 scale vehicle of its type to be produced in up-to-date specifications. The open-topped fighting vehicle is fully detailed, with a great number of completely new toolings in keeping with its tank destroyer thoroughbred. This means the fighting compartment has a brand new layout. The M1897A4 75mm gun is also a completely new item designed from scratch to the highest tolerances. Its gun shield is injection molded to a scale thickness matching that of the original. This 1/35 scale plastic kit from Dragon is a worthy contender to continue the M2/M3 family line, and it is ready to do battle in the Pacific, North Africa or Mediterranean.

1/6 M1919 .30 cal Machine Gun (2 In 1)
Dragon's rapidly expanding range of 1/6 scale weapon systems are a real hit with collectors. Manufactured with breathtaking realism, this scale lends itself to creating fully detailed miniature replicas. The latest weapon to join the range is an M1919 .30-cal Browning machinegun. This famous weapon was developed by John Browning from the M1917 water-cooled machinegun. Usually operated by a crew of two, the air-cooled M1919 served widely with U.S. forces in WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

The M1919 was commonly deployed in the weapons platoon of infantry companies. For infantry use, the weapon was mounted on a low-slung tripod, plus it was often mounted on vehicles such as jeeps and tanks. Dragon's 1/6 scale model is mounted on an accurately proportioned tripod, its cleverly constructed mechanism allowing the MG to be positioned according to the modeler's wishes, whether elevated up or down, or traversed left or right. The weapon can just as easily be separated from the tripod. The model also comes with an ammo box and realistic-looking ammo belt. For even greater versatility, the kit can be built as either an M1919A4 or M1919A6 variant - the former was the most common variant used in WWII and post-war, while the latter was a lighter version designed for infantry use. As such, the M1919A6 had a buttstock, longer barrel and bipod. This MG adds up to an outstanding model worthy of prominent display by itself or with appropriate gunner figures! The fact that it's a 2-in-1 kit makes it even more appetizi

1/72 Sd.Kfz.251 Rivetted Version + 3.7cm PaK 35/36: One of the iconic German armored vehicles of WWII was the Sd.Kfz.251 series of halftracks, with "Sd.Kfz." standing for Sonderkraftfahrzeug. Dragon has produced a number of highly successful 1/72 scale halftracks, and another one has just joined the fleet. The latest addition is an Sd.Kfz.251/1 Ausf.C with a riveted hull.

The Ausf.C was the first large-production run, although the design with its many angled plates was complex to build. What makes this variant more unusual is that this standard personnel carrier version comes with a towed 3.7cm PaK antitank gun. While some versions of the Sd.Kfz. 251 were originally designed to mount this diminutive antitank cannon on the hull, this kit is towing the gun on its standard carriage. As the war progressed, the penetration power of the 3.7cm PaK rapidly proved inadequate in the face of heavier armor on enemy tanks, which led to its nickname the "Door Knocker" The cannon has a newly tooled carriage, split trails and set of wheels, and model makers will appreciate the usefulness of this new weapon produced finely in 1/72 scale. With the halftrack and antitank gun combination, modelers have a choice of an Eastern or Western Front diorama or model display.

1/35 Soviet Black Sea Commando, Crimea 1944 (4 Figures Set): As the war progressed, German forces on the Eastern Front faced setback after setback. One such defeat was known as the Battle of Crimea, which took place between April 8 and May 12 1944. In this campaign the Red Army achieved total victory, cutting off the German 17.Armee and clearing enemy forces out of the Crimean Peninsular. The Soviets used amphibious landings to good effect, pushing Wermacht units back until Sevastopol eventually fell on May 9. A total of 97,000 German and Romanian soldiers were killed, wounded or captured in this battle.

Dragon's newest 1/35 figure set portrays four Soviet commandos from the Black Sea Fleet. In WWII, around 350,000 Red Navy sailors fought on land, often specializing in amphibious landings. This set depicts elite naval commandos in a unique set of uniforms and headgear. One of the commandos is even wearing the garb of a sniper. They also possess a variety of weapons including the ubiquitous PPSh-41 submachine gun. Detail is sharp and the pose of each figure is realistic. This set proves that Soviet soldiers offer more variety than men riding on the backs of T-34 tanks or marching across the steppes in khaki-colored uniforms. This is a novel set, Dragon's first of Soviet commandos, and yet its modeling possibilities are endless.

1/35 Commonwealth Infantry, Italy 1943 (6 Figures Set)

Tagged the "soft underbelly" of Europe, Italy turned out to be anything but! In fact the Italian campaign resulted in some 60,000 Allied and 50,000 German deaths, making it costlier than any other single campaign in Western Europe. The Italian campaign began on July 10 1943 with the invasion of Sicily, and it continued with the British Eighth Army invasion on the "toe" of Italy on September 3rd. It only concluded when victory in Europe was assured on May 8 1945. Responding to popular request for more Allied figures, Dragon has produced a sensational figure set of Commonwealth troops serving in this Italian theatre. Troops from a number of nations equipped with British equipment served there, so this figure set could easily represent British, Polish, Canadian, New Zealand or South African soldiers.

The kit offers six figures all dressed in tropical khaki drill uniforms, including four infantrymen wearing shorts. The 1/35 scale set portrays a squad marching north through Italy's dusty and mountainous terrain circa 1943, perhaps accompanied by a Sherman Mk. III tank such as the one recently released by Dragon. The soldiers carry mostly Lee Enfield No. 4 Mk. 1 rifles, though a Bren gun and Thompson M1928A1 submachine gun are also in evidence. Each soldier is fully kitted out with personal gear that is accurately replicated in miniature. Their poses are natural, and details are finely represented in plastic. Of course, this set also offers great potential for modification, as the figures could be used in other theaters, or by mixing and matching parts, a variety of new poses can be achieved.

1/35 Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.E Tauchpanzer w/Betriebsstoffänhanger

At first glance, the German Panzer IV tank of WWII doesn't look like an amphibious tank. That's because it wasn't designed as such! However, as Germany contemplated Operation Sea Lion, the invasion of Great Britain, a number of Pz.Kpfw.IV tanks were converted into Tauchpanzer (literally, "diving tank") mode. The plan was for these watertight tanks to be launched from ships off the coast of England, and to drive along the seabed until they emerged on beaches. Although these "amphibious" tanks weren't used against Great Britain, they did see combat in the invasion of Russia - for example, the crossing of the River Bug in 1941.

Dragon has previously offered modelers a 1/35 scale model of a Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.D Tauchpanzer, but now the choices available have just doubled. Emerging from Dragon's design studios is a new Panzer IV Ausf.E Tauchpanzer! While most diving tanks were converted from Ausf.D vehicles, some Ausf.E were similarly treated. This 1/35 scale kit is based on Dragon's superb Panzer IV E, but it includes all the necessary modifications like sealed openings, snorkel tube and exhaust valve to make it into a swimming tank. For added convenience for modelers, separate parts with and without waterproof covers are provided. Another key aspect of this kit is the addition of a Betriebsstoffanhanger, a fuel trailer. Like the tank itself, this small two-wheel trailer with fuel drums has been reproduced in extremely fine detail. For modelers looking for something a little different, and for those looking for fuel to take their panzer collections further, this interesting combination is the answer! This mix of tank and trailer is sure to cause a splash!

1/72 Tank Crew & Panther G Early Production w/Zimmerit

The Panther Ausf. G was the third production series of this hugely successful German tank design. A total of 3,126 Panther G tanks were manufactured between March 1944 and April 1945. Incorporating improvements over the earlier Ausf.D and A, the Panther G boasted a redesigned hull with increased armor protection and simplified construction. Dragon has previously released a 1/72 scale of a Panther G, and this accurate miniature kit has proved to be a hit with small-scale modelers. However, a tank is only as good as its crew, and so Dragon has come up with a fine set of 1/72 scale tank crewmen to man its Panther!

Building upon the popularity of earlier releases, this is Dragon's third tank-figure combination. In fact, the four crewmen are based on an original 1/35 scale tank crew, yet have suffered no diminution of detail in this smaller scale. These crewmen are alert to the threat of Allied aircraft diving down on their tank, a danger that became more common as WWII wore on. Wearing typical panzer uniforms, this crew is perfectly designed for a Panther Ausf.G, though of course the figures could also be adapted to fit other German armored vehicles as well. With both a tank and four crew figures included, this set provides an instant vignette for a dramatic late-war scene.

Germany relied heavily on horse-drawn artillery at the outset of WWII, but this was obviously unsatisfactory as far as mobility went. One solution was to mount artillery howitzers on surplus tracked chassis such as the Czech-manufactured Panzer 38(t). In this way the Grille (German for "Cricket") was created, which mounted a 15cm sIG.33 infantry gun. Because of a shortage of the new 38(t) Ausf. M chassis, the first 91 Grilles were based on the older rear-engine Ausf. H chassis. However, Dragon has announced a fine new 1/35 scale kit of the more common Ausf. M version of the Sd.Kfz. 138/1 Grille. This design featured a mid-engine layout, which allowed the 15cm schweres Infanteriegeschütz 33 gun to be mounted further back on the hull. A total of 282 were produced in 1943.

Dragon's superlative kit features a newly tooled s.IG.33/2 gun, which is based on intensive research conducted on actual weapons. The gun is fully detailed, including the carriage, while the rifling grooves inside the aluminum gun barrel have a realistically reproduced twist. Another exciting feature is Dragon's "Razor Edge" molding technology that replicates the original vehicles' armor plates with ultra-thin precision in 1/35 scale. All the interior detail of the open-topped fighting compartment is also faithfully rendered. Widespread use is made of multimedia materials such as photo-etched metal to give the highest degree of finesse. This exciting new artillery model from Dragon should receive a barrage of applause from fans of German artillery pieces!

1/35 11.Frw.Pz.Gren.Div "Nordland" Vistula-Oder 1945 (4 Figures Set)

Early in 1945, the Red Army was closing in on the crumbling Third Reich. A total of 2,203,000 Soviet troops kicked off The Vistula-Oder offensive from the Vistula River in Poland on January 12, and by February 2 they had driven deep into Germany. Their strategic offensive carried them as far as the Oder River just 70km from Berlin. The Soviet juggernaut claimed a staggering 377,000 German lives and 292,000 missing. One of those German units tasked with slowing the enemy advance was the 11th Volunteer Panzergrenadier Division "Nordland". Formed in February 1942, this mechanized infantry division was made up of volunteers from a bewildering array of foreign nationalities. In the Vistula-Oder battle it fought to virtual extinction.

Dragon has announced a 1/35 scale figure set featuring soldiers from the "Nordland" Division. These four figures realistically capture the vicious nature of winter combat in the Vistula-Oder offensive, as troops wearily sought to slow the Russian advance. A typical hodgepodge of uniforms is in evidence in this set, as the German military fought for survival late in the war. They also carry a variety of weapons their armaments include a captured PPsh41 submachine gun, as well as an MP-40, MP-44 and panzerfausts with which to stave off tank after Russian tank. These figures utilize Dragon's famous molding expertise to achieve an astounding level of detail. While this set sums up the essence of this desperate battle on Germany's doorstep, it also offers unlimited potential for other late-war scenarios too.

The Sherman tank saw widespread Allied use in WWII, but its original 75mm gun was inadequate for taking on heavily armored German tanks like the Panther and Tiger. With remarkable foresight the British decided to fit a 17pdr antitank gun, able to penetrate a Tiger I's frontal armor at 1000m, to the Sherman. Thus the Firefly was born, with approximately 2200 eventually produced. Most Fireflies were adapted from the M4A4 and were known as the Firefly Vc ("c" denoting the 17pdr gun), while a smaller number were converted from the older M4 and were called Firefly Ic. It is the first ever Firefly Ic in Dragon 1/72 model kits. Based on the Sherman I (M4), it has a cast one-piece differential housing and a characteristic turret stowage box this housed the radio equipment that was displaced by fitting the larger gun. The turret and lower hull are brand new castings that capture the characteristic look of this Sherman variant.

The M4 Sherman must surely be one of the most famous and recognizable tanks of all time. Named after the Union commander, General William Sherman, production exceeded 50,000 units. Dragon has been expanding and enhancing its impressive fleet of 1/35 scale Sherman kits, and the latest launch is a Premium Edition version of the M4A3(76)W. This tank's nomenclature indicates it was powered by a 500hp Ford GAA V8 gasoline engine (M4A3), boasted a 76mm M1 gun (76), and had protective "wet" stowage for ammo rounds (W). The M4A3, the U.S. Army's preferred Sherman variant, began replacing the M4 and M4A1 in 1944. The more potent 76mm antitank gun was needed to confront more heavily armored and more powerfully armed German tanks, and it started to see combat in France from July 1944 onwards. Indeed, by the end of war in Europe, half the American Sherman fleet was fitted with 76mm guns.

Dragon's Premium Edition kit depicts an M4A3(76)W running on the older Vertical Volute Spring Suspension (VVSS). In keeping with its "Premium" status, the kit has received a swathe of improvements and enhancements. It features a brand new Early Production T23 turret with realistically portrayed cast texture. There are newly tooled T48 tracks made from DS, and these have the added bonus of Extended End Connector (EEC) "duckbills", ideal for modeling this tank in a muddy or snowy winter setting. Of course, a range of multimedia items such as photo-etched parts and a bonus aluminum gun barrel are all enclosed in the box too. This beautifully detailed model keeps the M4A3 abreast of Dragon's recently released Sherman kits. With its upgraded and bonus parts, it will be a must-buy for fans of Allied tanks and Shermans

1/35 Italian Infantry, El Alamein 1942 (4 Figures Set)

After its declaration of war on June 10 1940, Italy had 250,000 troops available to fight against 30,000 British troops in North Africa. However, things didn't go well for the Italian Army, and after an Allied advance of 800km in December 1940, it was nearly destroyed. At this point, the Italian defense was stiffened by the arrival of General Erwin Rommel and his Afrika Korps. The desert war was to seesaw back and forth, with Italian soldiers playing an important part in the various battles, until Axis units in North Africa eventually surrendered in May 1943.

Dragon's newest 1/35 scale figure set depicts four Italian soldiers fighting in the hot and dry deserts of North Africa. Indeed, it completes a trilogy of El Alamein sets after the earlier No. 6389 DAK Infantry and No. 6390 8th Army figure sets. This set of Italian figures is set to be a singular success, especially considering it's the very first in decades to be produced to an up-to-date standard. These Italian infantrymen with full equipment are sharply molded and realistically posed for desert fighting, with every item in the box being a brand new tooling. Their brand new weapons include an M1934 pistol, M1938 submachine gun, M1930 light machinegun and M1891/1938 carbine. A variety of uniform items and headgear also offer modelers exciting prospects. With this perfect combination of molding technology, maximum detail and innovative subject matter, this set of Italian Army infantrymen in North Africa will prove to be a valuable and popular release.

1/35 US Army Tank Riders 1944-45 (4 Figures Set) ~ Gen 2

The column of olive-drab colored M4 Sherman tanks ground its way through the dusty, narrow lanes of northern France. On either side, thick vegetation and hedgerows pressed in. Clumps of battle-weary GIs sprawled on the engine decks of the Shermans, exhausted after continuous combat but grateful for the free ride. Their weapons remained close at hand, ready for an ambush or the next engagement with their German adversaries.

Such a scene can now be created thanks to the launch of Dragon's latest Gen2 figure set. The 1/35 scale set includes four U.S. Army soldiers suitable for scenes in the 1944-45 period. These American "tank riders" are the first of their kind to be made available, making the set a valuable asset. Dragon has recently produced some accurate Sherman kits, and at last there are now infantry figures to populate these tanks. Each of the four figures is strikingly posed, either sitting or kneeling, and they have been carefully sculpted to fit onto a Sherman engine deck. Detail is sharp and incredibly refined in keeping with their Gen2 status. Combined they form an impressive NW European 1944-45 scene for Shermaholics. But of course, these figures are also inherently versatile as they can be depicted resting in just about any context. As with previous Gen2 figure sets, these GIs are equipped with the most detailed and latest in molded weaponry such as the Garand M1 and BAR. Their personal equipment is equally well represented in high-quality molded plastic. Indeed, these tank riders are ready to mount up and move out!

About this Panzer II
As Germany developed its much-vaunted panzer forces in the 1930s, the Pz.Kpfw.II played an important role. Though only designed as a stopgap vehicle while the more powerful Panzer III and IV tanks were being developed, it played a key part in early WWII campaigns such as Poland, France, the Balkans, North Africa and Russia. Indeed, it was the principal main battle tank of the panzer divisions in 1940. By 1943, production of the Panzer II had ceased, though the chassis was to form the basis of a number of other armored vehicles.

Last year, Cyber Hobby released a 1/35 scale kit of a Pz.Kpfw.II Ausf. F (Item No. 6263), and this proved to be a hugely popular subject. Cyber Hobby is now following it with an earlier variant in the Panzer II family - an Ausf.C. The Ausf.C was the standard production model from June 1938 through to April 1940, with a total of 1,113 tanks produced. It was the most numerous variant of the Panzer II, and it served in armored units through much of the war. This means the kit will have widespread appeal, as it opens up so many options for modeling. The kit utilizes high-quality components from the preceding Ausf.F kit, but it has many brand new parts.

There's a new turret and upper hull to reflect the appearance of this particular tank. Designers resorted to widely using slide molds in order to gain the necessary level of detail, plus there's a generous inclusion of multimedia parts. While the tank is brimming with detail, designers have been careful to make sure it remains easy to assemble. The Panzer II may have been a small tank, but Cyber Hobby has managed to pack an enormous amount of detail into this kit. With a whole range of modeling vistas opened up - from the North African desert dunes to the mud of the Eastern Front or the cobbled stones of a French town - this kit is destined for great things in the hands of modelers!

Almost as soon as WWII began, Germany began to realize it had a weakness in the penetration power of its tank guns. This truth was forcefully rammed home when panzers began facing well-armored Russian tanks like the T-34 and KV-1. There was an urgent need for mobile antitank weapons, and one solution was the Marder III Ausf.M based on the chassis of the Czech-designed Panzer 38(t). (Note, the "M" in Ausf.M stands for Mittelmotor, referring to the mid-engine layout). This tank destroyer mounted a 75mm PaK 40/3 L/46 antitank gun set well back on the hull. The Marder III Ausf.M was the most widely produced Marder variant, with 975 vehicles built from April 1943 to May 1944. Marders fought in all theaters, and some 350 Ausf.M were still in service in February 1945.

Dragon will release a fine 1/35 scale rendition of a Marder III Ausf.M Initial Production vehicle. No detail has been spared on this kit, and it is bulging and rippling with fine detail. The open-topped fighting compartment is crammed with components such as ammo racks and rounds that will allow modelers to really go to town. Using Dragon's proprietary "Ultra Slim" molding technique, the edges of the armor plates in this fighting compartment are produced to an extremely realistic thickness. This attractive vehicle makes widespread use of slide-molded plastic parts (e.g. a one-piece lower hull) to squeeze every last drop of detail from the available technology. There is also a liberal supply of photo-etched elements (e.g. exhaust shield, mudguards) to give that extra degree of finesse that modelers crave. Based on intensive research, this kit is carefully configured as an Initial Production vehicle and offers many convenient elements such as Magic Tracks, and the option of showing the engine compartment open or closed. As a Smart Kit, this new item will give great pleasure to model connoisseurs

By the end of WWII, more than 57,000 T-34 tanks had been built by the Soviet Union, of which 34,870 were the original version mounting a 76mm gun. Initially, the leading T-34 producer was factory No. 183 in Kharkov. This production facility was then followed by Factory No. 122, also known as "Krasnoye Sormovo", situated in the city of Gorky. Named after Andrei Zhdanov, the factory was originally a shipbuilding facility. T-34/76 tanks produced at this factory had a number of distinguishing features such as notched glacis-hull side joints and a round access hatch on the rear plate.

Dragon has released a fantastic new 1/35 scale kit of a Late Production T-34/76 tank from the Krasnoye Sormovo factory. This builds upon the success of Cyber-Hobby's White-box Early Production kit, but it will obviously be much more accessible to the modeling public. This type of tank has never appeared on the market before, so this unique vehicle will be much sought after by modelers. Dragon's designers conducted an immense amount of research in order to include all the important characteristics of this variant and offer them in a convenient package to modelers (e.g. left-mounted headlight, brand new 3-directional slide-molded turret, new rear-mounted fuel tanks, newly tooled ribbed wheels). The kit is also fitted with numerous handrails reminiscent of Factory No. 112 tanks, these being present for the benefit of "tankoviy desant" riders. This is an exciting kit of an important T-34/76 tank, and it is just waiting to roll into action with a full complement of tank riders!

1/700 U.S.S. Spruance ~ Premium Edition

The USS Spruance (DD-963), named after Admiral Raymond Spruance, was the lead ship of the Spruance-class of destroyers. This class of vessel was designed as an anti-submarine warfare destroyer, and they were the first U.S. Navy ships to be powered by gas turbines. DD-963 was commissioned on 20 September 1975 and it had a displacement of 8040 tons. The USS Spruance ranged far and wide, and some of its many duties included observing the Iran-Iraq War, a maritime blockade of Iraq, a UN mission in Haiti, and hurricane relief in Florida. The USS Spruance was decommissioned in 2005, before being sunk as a target for air-launched Harpoon missiles in December 2006.

Dragon has previously released a 1/700 scale kit of the USS Spruance class, but the kit has now been completely overhauled and refitted. After intensive work, it has been relaunched as a Premium Edition kit. This means all the accuracy and detail of the original kit has been retained, while new photo-etched parts to replicate the deck railings, radars, masts and etc. Dragon's engineers have been careful to ensure the kit remains convenient to assemble, all the time maximizing the amount of detail on offer to discerning modelers. This enhanced Premium Edition kit is ready again to commence any mission assigned to it by modelers!

1/35 5cm PaK 38 w/Crew ~ Premium Edition

The 5cm PaK 38 antitank gun was developed by Rheinmetall-Borsig AG in 1938 as the successor to the 37mm PaK 36. Entering service in December 1940, one of its first duties was to attack Soviet tanks when Operation Barbarossa kicked off in June 1941. Indeed, at that time the 5cm L/60 gun of the PaK 38 was one of the few weapons able to defeat the 45mm-thick sloped armor of the Soviet Union's formidable T-34 tank. The development of a Panzergranate 40 projectile with a tungsten core further enhanced its antitank properties. Weighing 830kg, the gun had a height of just 1.05m. A well-trained crew of five could achieve a rate of fire of 13 rounds per minute.

Dragon will release a fine 1/35 scale Premium Edition model of the 5cm PaK 38 antitank gun. Based on Dragon's original release of this weapon system, it has received a comprehensive upgrade to make it more appealing than ever. One of the major modifications is the inclusion of the THIRD WHEEL that was hitched to the split-trail spades to allow easier manhandling. This newly tooled wheel is designed to widen modelers' diorama horizons, as it permits the gun to be displayed in either a travel or combat mode. In addition, this Premium Edition kit also has a set of four crewmen with brand new arms and hands to operate the gun and hold scale ammo rounds. The crew also benefits from upgraded GEN2 weapons and equipment. This is a versatile and accurately rendered kit of an important antitank gun that served right through to the end of WWII, and it offers modelers endless possibilities

About The U.S.S. Buchanan
The USS Buchanan (DD-484) had an eventful career in WWII. This Gleaves-class destroyer, named after a Confederate Navy admiral, was commissioned on March 21, 1942. The vessel served in the Pacific, taking part in such battles as Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima and Okinawa. This destroyer holds the honor of having shuttled General MacArthur to and from the USS Missouri to accept the Japanese surrender in Tokyo Bay on August 30, 1945. As well as this, the ship endured such misfortunes as being hit by friendly fire, running aground and colliding with another destroyer during its combat tours! Such a colorful ship requires an equally outstanding model, so Dragon has carefully developed this innovative model of the USS Buchanan as it appeared in 1942.

This Smart Kit represents a milestone in 1/350 warship kits, raising and establishing the bar in one bold presentation. Employing brand new thinking, design and engineering, this model represents a whole series of technological breakthroughs. A one-piece upper hull made from slide molds, sponsons expertly made with hitherto untried techniques, and use of photo-etched components, are just a few examples of the innovation found within its keel. New types of multimedia materials have been especially developed for this kit, from the pliant paper fiber used to represent flags, to the decals representing the deck walkway texture. There are even miniature figures included to populate this impressive model. This destroyer may possess an unprecedented level of detail, but Dragon's clever engineering means it remains easy and pleasurable to assemble. The real USS Buchanan was turned over to the Turkish Navy in 1949, but it's this new model from Dragon that's turning heads amongst ship modelers all around the world!

The American P-51 Mustang entered service midway through WWII and became a hugely successful and recognizable fighter. Most were employed as bomber escorts in the European theater. The definitive and most widely produced version was the P-51D, powered by a Packard V-1650-3 supercharged 12-cylinder engine. This engine was Packard's copy of the famous Rolls Royce Merlin engine. The Mustang's main armament was six .50-caliber Browning machineguns, adequate for combating its main opponents, the Bf 109 and Fw 109, over European skies. In an effort to improve all-round visibility, the P-51D had also received a "teardrop" or "bubble" canopy.

Following close on the tail of Dragon's earlier release of a 1/32 P-51D Mustang kit is an Early Production variant of this famous American fighter. The original kit was extremely well received, and this latest 1/32 scale model has a redesigned fuselage to allow modelers to accurately represent an Early model. As an Early Production aircraft, it does not have the tail fillet or dorsal fin where the fuselage and tail join, this modification being made to original aircraft to give better yaw stability. Of course, this aspect is carefully replicated in kit form. As before, this kit is highly detailed using state-of-the-art engineering and molding techniques. No effort has been spared in producing a kit brimming with detail, and that yet remains easy to assemble. This kit provides another Mustang version for modelers to add to their collections!

As Germany suffered terribly from interminable Allied bombing as WWII progressed, a number of new weapons were fielded. The Heinkel He 219 Uhu
(Eagle-Owl), a night-fighter, was one such weapon. The He 219 was a very effective aircraft in the Luftwaffe, but due to political wrangling, production was too low to have any impact on the course of the war. The effectiveness of the night-fighter can be seen in its debut, when a pre-production aircraft shot down five Allied bombers in one night! The A-5 was to be a major production variant of the Uhu, the craft possessing a 90MHz VHF Telefunken FuG 220 Liechtenstein SN-2 radar system with a range of 4km. This was very useful in hunting down bombers at night.

A new 1/72 scale from Dragon contains an He 219A-5/R4, the "R4" referring to a variant with a third crewmember and the addition of a rear-facing MG 131 for self-defense. This aircraft model is of a very high standard, based on the successes of a previous He 219 kit. To suit this new variant, a completely new canopy has been designed. Other components utilize high quality molds for greater accuracy. Naturally for such a contemporary kit, photo-etched parts are included to maximize and enhance detail. Decals from Cartograf offer modelers different markings to finish their Uhu.

1/35 Panzerschreck Teams 1944-45 ~ Gen 2

As the Soviet T-34 tank rumbled along the snow-coated street, its steel track treads crumbled the rubble into powder. Lurking in the shadows, a figure raised his weapon and took careful aim at the monstrous steel hulk bearing down on him. Suddenly he fired, the Ofenrohr ("Stove Pipe") emitting a large cloud of smoke. A rocket streaked towards the tank and penetrated its sloped armor, the vehicle clanking to a stop as flames and smoke erupted from its interior. The German tank hunter team quickly scuttled away to find a new position.

This type of scene was repeated over and over as German defenses were inundated by Soviet and Allied tanks in the latter part of WWII. With a dire shortage of tanks and tank destroyers, one smaller but still effective German weapon was the Panzerschreck ("tank terror") or Raketenpanzerbüchse ("rocket tank rifle", or RPzB). This antitank rocket launcher of 88mm caliber, from which the American bazooka was copied, was employed by infantry. Dragon's newest figure set offers two Panzerschreck teams, one wearing winter uniforms and the other attired in summer uniforms. Their versatility allows them to be used for either Eastern or Western Front dioramas. As a Gen2 set, the figures are crisply detailed and have anatomically vivid poses. Likewise, their associated gear is sharply molded. Their RPzB 54 weapons with characteristic blast shields are amazingly detailed, the most accurate yet thanks to their Gen2 status. These teams are ready to terrorize some enemy tanks, and simply await a modeler's touch to bring them to life

1/35 Soviet Guards Infantry 1944-45 ~ Gen 2

The Red Army had 303 divisions (4.8 million troops) at the time Germany invaded the Soviet Union in June 1941. The Red Army suffered terrible defeats before the tide began to turn with such historic victories as the Battle of Stalingrad. A total of 29.5 million men were conscripted into the army during the Great Patriotic War, and when WWII finally ended, the Soviets had the most powerful ground force in the history of mankind. The Red Army had more tanks and artillery than all other countries combined! Dragon's latest 1/35 figure set depicts combat-proven Red Army soldiers fighting in 1944-45 near the end of the conflict.

This is the very first Soviet Gen2 set, and what a set it is! The four figures are from a Guards infantry unit, and after a fierce battle against German defenders they share a bottle of vodka in a moment of calm. Each soldier is wearing an M1940 helmet, and they are clad in a Telogreika (winter jacket), breeched and boots. These finely sculpted figures possess a mini-arsenal, with a whole range of exciting weapons reproduced to Gen2 standards. Weapons include the famous PPSh41 submachine gun, DP28 light machine gun, PPS43, and even a captured German panzerfaust. This figure set is portrayed in incredibly lifelike poses, and will find applications in all sorts of scenes. They could be displayed in a stand-alone vignette, or combined with one of Dragon's new Soviet tanks that have recently appeared on the market. The possibilities are endless for these superbly molded soldiers, made all the more appealing by their incomparable Gen2 level of quality!

Early in WWII, the Luftwaffe ruled the skies over Europe. However, as the war progressed, this domination was reversed. The need for antiaircraft weapons became pressing, although the primary light AA gun - the 2cm FlaK 38 (Fliegerabwehrkanone 38) - was inadequate towards the war's end. The FlaK 38 was an improved version of the FlaK 30, with a much-improved theoretical rate of fire of 420-480 rounds per minute, although in practice it was half of this due to the 20-round box magazines that fed it. Mauser's 2cm FlaK 38 was adopted gun in March 1940, and more than 17,000 FlaK 30 and FlaK 38 examples were to see widespread service in WWII. The weapon had a muzzle velocity of 900m/s and its maximum effective range was 2,200m. The gun was usually hauled around on a two-wheeled Sd.Ah. 51 trailer.

A fine 2cm FlaK 38 antiaircraft gun is the latest arrival in Dragon's expanding range of 1/6 scale kit sets. The weapon is fully detailed and accurately resembles the original gun. Of course, in this larger scale no detail has been left untouched by the designers. Furthermore, it moves like the real thing, with the weapon able to rotate 360ş on its platform, and with the barrel able to elevate to any angle selected by the modeler. As the cannon elevates, the mechanism is carefully engineered so the gun sight moves in tandem. The incluson of a metal gun barrel ensures detail is maximised, and the distinctive holes found on the flash suppressor are present. Although it's full of complex detail, this plastic kit is simple to assemble. A ready supply of ammunition means this compact weapon is also ready to immediately swing into action against either air or ground targets!

With a displacement of 27,100 tons, the USS Princeton (CV-37) was originally laid down as an Essex-class aircraft carrier of the U.S. Navy. Commissioned on November 18, 1945. It was too late to be involved in WWII, though it did see extensive action in the Korean War with three tours of duty there. For example, its embarked aircraft supported Marines as they made a fighting withdrawal from the Chosin Reservoir.

"In January 1954, the USS Princeton was converted for antisubmarine warfare, and was reclassified as CVS-37. Its final evolution was as a Boxer-class amphibious assault ship for the USMC, in which role it served in the Vietnam War. This U.S. warship, after many years of faithful service, was finally decommissioned in 1970.

But modelers will be pleased to hear the USS Princeton has been resurrected in 1/700 scale! This fantastic new model represents this carrier in the antisubmarine CVS-37 capacity it served in from 1954 to 1959. This means it includes pertinent details like the LSO (Landing Signal Officer) platform, which is made from photo-etched parts for the finest possible rendering of detail. The complement of S2F-1 and HSS-1 antisubmarine aircraft all involve brand new toolings too. To give modelers unparalleled detail, these 1/700 scale aircraft are injection molded in transparent plastic. This carrier is positively bristling with detail, and modelers will welcome such a vessel built to Dragon's highest standards into their model fleets."

"As WWII drew to an irrevocable end in 1945, Germany's panzer forces were scraping the barrel in terms of the armored vehicles it could field. One such example is the Tiger I represented in Dragon Armor's latest release. It portrays a hybrid Tiger, an early version retrofitted with steel wheels. It belonged to Feldwebel Beloff, and was part of the ad-hoc Tiger-Gruppe Fehrmann formation formed in the spring of 1945.

This 1/72 Tiger tank perfectly captures the look of such a late-war vehicle. Details are carefully reproduced with accuracy uppermost in the minds of the designers. The is a fine model of a rare Tiger with a most extraordinary history behind it. "

1/35 UH-1N "Gunship"

Features:
- Newly tooled mini-gun with intricate detail
- Highly detailed rocket launchers
- Ammunition box is newly tooled
- UH-1N fuselage rendered with fine detail
- Clear plastic parts for windshield and doors
- Photo-etched parts for upgrading the detail
- Pre-painted photo-etched parts included
- New Cartograf decal

The "Huey" must surely be one of, if not the most, recognizable helicopters in history. Dragon has produced a fabulous 1/35 scale plastic kit of this famous helicopter in an all-new guise. The new kit represents a UH-1N, a twin-engine version of the Huey. The first such variant flew in April 1969 with the Canadian government providing Bell with the impetus to develop this new helicopter powered by two Pratt & Whitney T400-CP-400 turboshafts. In due course the USMC, U.S. Navy and USAF ordered the UH-1N Iroquois.

This kit easily builds into a UH-1N Gunship flown by the U.S. Marines. As a gunship it possesses considerable firepower - weaponry includes 2.75-inch rocket pods and GAU-17 7.62mm miniguns. The minigun, for instance, is a brand new tooling and it exhibits amazingly intricate detail. This medium military helicopter has been carefully researched and cleverly engineered to produce a highly detailed 1/35 scale helicopter. Even the tiny rivets, so much a feature of the fuselage, are minutely rendered. Glazed parts are rendered in clear plastic, while high-quality Cartograf decals show off the finished gunship to perfection. The UH-1N has served in numerous conflicts such as the Gulf War and Iraq, so modelers have ample scope to display this model in a range of settings.

The Atlantic Wall was a formidable series of fortifications stretching from France to Norway, and to breach it, the Allies needed special equipment. The point chosen to penetrate the seemingly impregnable fortress of Europe was Normandy, and D-Day was set as June 6, 1944. The massive seaborne invasion involved the greatest armada ever assembled, including a staggering 6939 naval vessels! This total included 4126 specialist landing ships/craft. Dragon's new 1/72 diorama set features one such landing craft, an LCM(3), also known as a "Higgins" boat. The vessel was capable of carrying a single M4 Sherman tank or 60 soldiers.

Dragon's fantastic new set includes a 1/72 scale kit of this type of landing craft, plus a highly accurate and fully detailed M4A1 tank kit. The tank has been readied for the invasion by having deep-water wading stacks added, these exciting new elements being constructed from photo-etched parts for a true scale effect. The M4A1 tank kit accurately reflects how a tank would have appeared when storming the beaches of Normandy. But there's much more included in this set! A team of six U.S. infantrymen, a crew of three sailors for the LCM(3), plus a series of beach obstacles (so-called "hedgehogs"), are all included. All these components come together on a complete diorama base provided in the box. Modelers can just about hear the tank tracks clanking down the steel ramp of the landing craft and splashing into the surf, even as American infantrymen rush across the sand seared by machinegun bullets, and take desperate cover behind German-laid beach obstacles. This is a truly comprehensive set that brings D-Day to life, thus enabling modelers to recreate one of the most momentous days of WWII!

1/6 8.8cm Raketenwerfer 43 "PÜPPCHEN"

The Raketen-Panzerbüchse 43 (RPzB, which stands for "rocket tank rifle") was an antitank rocket launcher of 88mm caliber. German troops nicknamed it Püppchen or "dolly". While it gave infantrymen an antitank capability in their foremost positions, it was produced in only limited numbers compared to the Panzerschreck or Panzerfaust. The weapon was mounted on a carriage and fired the same type of 88mm rocket as the Panzerschreck.

This novel weapon has been reduced in size to 1/6 scale in Dragon's exciting series of support weapon kits. No effort has been spared to ensure this Püppchen kit has received every last possible detail. This 1/6 scale replica even has a working breech that allows ammunition to be inserted! 88mm rockets with shaped-charge head are included in this amazing set, along with their associated ammo boxes. About the only thing this Püppchen can't do is actually fire the rockets! The original RPzB 43 had a maximum effective range of only about 200m, plus the wheels could be removed to lower its silhouette. In such a case, the weapon was then left standing on a pair of sled-like rests. This is in fact the guise this weapon comes in, ideal for a diorama set in a bitterly cold and snowy winter. This new model kit is a real doll, and is ideal for a wintry vignette. It would work well with many of Dragon's 1/6 scale figures, or it is so well presented that it could form the centerpiece of a display all by itself!

A new Panther is born! Dragon is proud to announce the birth of an exotic German Panther not with a coat of black fur, but rather with zimmerit coating!

There was a spectacular response by modelers to the release of the Kingtiger Henschel and Kingtiger Porsche kits featuring readymade zimmerit. Requests for other tanks with such a pre-molded zimmerit coating were numerous. The result is a Panther Ausf.D that comes with full zimmerit texture on all appropriate surfaces. The coating is a masterpiece of sculpting and molding, and it equals the delicacy of a master-modeler's handiwork. This kit boasts a number of completely new parts - the turret, mantlet, upper hull, glacis, rear plate, and stowage boxes are all brand new to allow the incorporation of zimmerit.

This new kit also features one-piece DS tracks with hollow guide horns, just like the original track links. There are also a number of metal parts to help modelers accurately depict the finest of components on this famous German tank. This kit can be assembled straight from the box, with no messing around with putty and texturing tools required. For sheer convenience and accuracy, this valuable kit cannot be beaten. The Panther has been born again!

1/35 Fallschirmjäger 8cm Gr.W.42 Mortar Team (4 Figure Set) ~ Gen 2

The standard German mortar in WWII was the 8cm Granatwerfer 34 (Gr.W.34). Dragon has produced this mortar in 1/35 plastic kit form already, but now it has proceeded to produce the very first model of another German 8cm mortar. The new item is nicknamed a Stummel-Werfer ("stump projector") - a Kurzer 8cm Granatwerfer 42 (kz. 8cm Gr.W.42). This mortar was lightened to 26.5kg and had a specially shortened barrel (74.7cm) designed for use by paratrooper units. However, because of the shorter barrel it had a limited range of just 1100m. This drawback meant only 1,591 examples were built before production ceased. It's a rare weapon but Dragon has captured it in full detail as a Gen2 piece of plastic engineering.

Naturally, Dragon hasn't produced just a lonely new mortar, for this set includes a complete set of four Gen2 German paratrooper crewmen to go with it! The crewmen are depicted as though they're enjoying a lull in the fighting. Three crewmen lounge in their dug-in position as a comrade cleans the mortar tube. Each Green Devil figure is beautifully sculpted in a lifelike pose. Their uniforms are sharply and cleanly rendered using typically clever Gen2 parts separation. Indeed, these figures could be used in any scenario modelers choose. Certainly this is a valuable new mortar, and when combined with the fantastic new paratrooper figures, the result is irresistible in 1/35 scale!

1/72 German Sd.Kfz.251 Ausf.D mit 28cm Rocket and Steel Frame Crates

- Photo-etched parts upgrading details
- Cartograf decal offers accurate marking
- DS one-pieces tracks

Germany's Sd.Kfz. 251 halftrack series proved highly versatile throughout WWII, and numerous variants were produced over the course of its life. One version was the Stuka zu Fuss mounting the Wurfrahmen 40 rocket launcher system, ideal for providing a heavy bombardment capability to panzergrenadier units. Dragon is now going to release such a vehicle in Ausf.D version. The Ausf. D hull featured a simplified construction, thus making production easier for Germany's overstrained industry.

This 1/72 scale Sd.Kfz. 251 halftrack model is highly detailed with accurate dimensions. The six rocket launcher frames mounted on the hull are reproduced by new photo-etched parts. The Stuka zu Fuss offered a heavy weapon to German motorized units, and Dragon's offers modelers an excellent new choice in halftracks! This existing release provides some serious firepower to modelers.

- Cartograf decal offer accurate markings

To provide a mobile antitank capability, the 2.8cm Panzerbüchse 41 was sometimes mounted on halftracks. The 2.8cm sPzB 41 was officially a heavy antitank rifle, but its characteristics were actually closer to those of a light antitank gun. Production of this weapon took place from 1941 onwards, but manufacturing was discontinued in 1943 due to a lack of tungsten for the projectiles that were fired at very high velocities.

Dragon is going to launch an Sd.Kfz. 251/7 Ausf.C armed with a 2.8cm sPzB 41. This latest addition to the Sd.Kfz. 251 range offers modelers even greater options. It utilizes accurate and well-detailed components from previous Sd.Kfz.251 kits, as well as the antitanks weapon that is accurately designed and molded in a sophisticated level of finesse. This 1/72 pionierpanzerwagen kit pioneers new opportunities for modelers!

1/72 F-5E Reconnaissance

The Lockheed P-38 Lightning is notable for being the only American fighter to remain in production throughout the duration of WWII, from Pearl Harbor to VJ Day. Perhaps the most successful theater for this twin-boom fighter was in the Pacific, and indeed the USA's top ace, Richard Bong, earned 40 victories in a P-38 Lightning. The P-38 performed a number of roles, one of them being reconnaissance.

In this case, the craft's normal complement of machine guns was replaced with cameras. Lockheed built more than 1400 reconnaissance aircraft in the P-38 family, with one of the more prominent models being the F-5E based on the P-38J/L airframe. A total of 605 F-5Es were eventually built. The F-5 was nimble and fast, an ideal aircraft to penetrate deep behind enemy lines and take aerial photographs that would provide valuable intelligence to commanders.

The subject of Dragon's latest 1/72 scale aircraft kit is an F-5E reconnaissance aircraft. The model is a fine rendition of this important reconnaissance aircraft. While it's based on P-38 models already available from Dragon, it has been given a work-over to incorporate all the required changes. For example, Dragon's design engineers have given it a completely new nose specific to this camera-carrying version. Even the smallest detail is accurately portrayed in this new F-5E, and panel lines are delicately scribed. Thanks to clever engineering, it's also a pleasure to assemble. This special new kit of the F-5E enlarges the P-38 family line from Dragon…it's enough to make modelers smile for the camera!

"Braille scale" modelers have been delirious with delight at the release of Part 1 of Dragon's 1/72 scale set of figures from the 3rd Fallschirmjäger Division accompanying a Kingtiger. These figures revolutionize the way 1/72 scale will be viewed, with a whole new dimension of detail opened up.

Dragon is proud to announce that Part 2 of the set is now available. This set also features four new and incredibly sculpted paratrooper figures that are again accompanied by a terrific 1/72 scale Kingtiger tank with Henschel turret. With this latest set, the complete scene of paratroopers loaded on the rear deck of a tank as depicted in a famous photograph during the Battle of the Bulge can now be recreated. However, these spectacularly modeled and engineered figures can be used in any scenario. Just imagine the dioramas that could be produced in this more compact and convenient scale! Perhaps a column of Kingtiger tanks loaded with "Green Devils" clanking along a snow-covered road in the Ardennes forest or on the Eastern Front. Dragon's engineers have produced these multi-part figures that are every bit as complex and detailed as their 1/35 scale brethren. These figures, brimming with detail, are the ideal instrument for modelers to explore and exploit the 1/72 scale world of models and dioramas

1/35 German Officers, Kursk 1943 (Four Figures Set)

July 3, 1943. There is a sense of anticipation in the air as final preparations are made for tomorrow's massive attack on Russian defenders in the Kursk salient. A German commander gathers a small knot of troops around him to study his map and discuss their orders in the opening gambit of the attack. It is hot and dry, the steppes parched by the summer heat. They stand in the shade of a Panzer IV tank that is already fueled and armed ready for Operation Citadel, the largest armored conflict in the history of mankind.

Dragon's newest 1/35 scale figure set depicts such a scene set in Kursk 1943. The lifelike figures include a pair of panzergrenadiers, a senior officer and a tank crewman as they conduct a field briefing before entering into battle. Each character is clothed in a different and unique uniform suitable for his role. Their summer uniforms are sharply molded and cry out for careful painting to bring out the inherent detail. Their facial expressions are also realistic as they discuss the best plan of attack. These figures make an ideal accompaniment for one of Dragon's recently released Panzer IV tank kits as illustrated in the box-top illustration. However, these figures are so well sculpted and posed that they could be used in just about any summer scenario proposed by modelers

Interestingly, the Panzer IV was originally designed as an infantry-support tank, whereas the Panzer III was designated as the vehicle to engage enemy armor. This was to change as WWII developed, and in fact the Pz.Kpfw.IV was the only German tank to remain in production throughout the entirety of the war with 8500 produced between 1937 and 1945. Dragon has recently produced two sensational 1/35 scale kits of the Panzer IV F2 and G, and the next subject to receive the treatment is the F1. Compared to the Ausf.E, modifications incorporated in the F1 were an increase in armor thickness, wider 40cm tracks, new mufflers, revised hatches and visors, plus air-intake cowls to aid cooling of the steering brakes. A total of 462 of this variant were produced between April 1941 and March 1942.

Dragon's outstanding plastic rendition of the Panzer IV Ausf.F1 accurately portrays this short-barreled Panzer. The 1/35 scale kit is based on exhaustive research, and it has been carefully engineered by Dragon's skilled technicians. The result is an extremely accurate kit that is easy and pleasurable to assemble thanks to its Smart Kit status. This new tank will be rapturously received by military modelers, especially those interested in earlier versions of the Panzer IV. This wonderful new model has captured the essence of an older tank!

About The Flakpanzer 38(t)

The Luftwaffe dominated the skies early in WWII, but it met a remarkable reversal as the war

proceeded. This created an urgent requirement for mobile antiaircraft platforms for ground troops so they could combat Allied and Russian aircraft. An interim solution was the "Flakpanzer 38(t) auf Selbstfahrlafette 38(t) Ausf. L (Sd.Kfz. 140)," to give it its full title. However, it was also commonly referred to as the Gepard 38(t) Ausf. L. A total of 140 were produced between November 1943 and February 1944 before the Flakpanzer IV (built on a Panzer IV chassis and featuring a 3.7cm cannon) became available.

"The Gepard 38(t) featured a single 2cm Flak 38 cannon in the rear fighting compartment, with superstructure sides that could be folded down for better crew access and 360ş traverse. These antiaircraft mounts were issued to AA platoons in tank regiments, and a considerable number of them saw combat in the West (e.g. in the Normandy fighting), despite their lack of firepower.

About This Kit

Based on Dragon's successful 1:35 scale Panzer 38(t), no shortcuts were taken when producing the correct silhouette and detail in this new kit. Therefore, the Gepard 38(t) adds a newly tooled fighting compartment, upper hull and chassis. Dragon's well-received 2cm flak gun is also carefully lowered into and installed in its mount in the fighting compartment, which is chockablock with interior detail. Even the engine and other parts in the vehicle interior (e.g. the driver's compartment) are represented in what is a very complete package. A generous supply of slide-molded components, photo-etched parts and Magic Tracks allow modelers to make an exemplary replica of the Gepard 38(t) Ausf. L."

1/35 German Field Howitzer Crew (Five Figures Set)

Dragon has delighted fans of WWII artillery with the recent 1/35 scale release of the sFH18

Howitzer. This kit marks the pinnacle of contemporary molding technology for German artillery pieces, with each Smart Kit assembly, high quality and extreme accuracy. But what good is such a fine piece of kit engineering if there is no crew to operate it? Dragon has solved this problem for modelers with the release of the German Field Howitzer Crew figure set!

Always ready to meet modelers' requests, this practical figure set from Dragon contains five crewmen purpose-designed to operate the sFH18 Howitzer. The figures are expertly sculpted in lifelike poses, and they faithfully replicate the movements of an artillery crew in action. They are ideal for a diorama scene portraying a howitzer firing against a distant enemy. The set offers more than just figures, for there are also cleanly molded accessories such as DS wicker ground mats, DS wicker ammo cases, propellant charges, ranging poles, a firing ram rod. This is a very complete set, and is a must-have for modelers wishing to populate and operate their new artillery piece!

The largest WWII tank battles took place in Europe, whether in the rugged terrain of the Mediterranean, densely populated Northwest Europe, or the open steppes of Russia. However, tanks also played an important role in the Pacific Theater of Operations (PTO). This was in spite of the challenges posed by factors like tropical jungles and small islands, or the small number of tanks fielded by Japan. Dragon is offering a fantastic new kit of an M4A2(W) Sherman of the type used by the USMC in the Pacific. The "W" in its nomenclature refers to its "wet stowage" (glycerine- protected) ammo stowage rack

The M4A2 was effectively used in assaults against dug-in Japanese defenders on many islands and atolls throughout the Pacific, as Allied forces inexorably advanced towards the Japanese mainland. One common feature found in contemporary wartime photos was wood planks mounted around the hull and suspension area to protect against Japanese antitank weapons and fanatical Japanese infantrymen intent upon attaching a magnetic mine. This new 1/35 scale M4A2(W) includes this most eye-catching feature, and the wood planks possess a realistic wood-grain texture. The kit also offers other completely new items, examples of which are a brand new turret and a turret-top MG mount and bracket. The engine deck is also new, and it is accurately shaped and detailed. For use in sandy or swampy conditions, this tank can roll on brand new one-piece T54E1 tracks with extenders that are made from DS.

1/700 HMS Invincible, 25th Falklands War Anniversary ~ Premium Edition

Features:

- Finely scaled radar provided by photo-etched parts

- Photo-etched railings to enhance details

- Superstructure relistically reproduced

- New Cartograft decal

Dragon has launched a new 1/700 scale kit in its Sea Power series. The subject is HMS Invincible (R05), a light aircraft carrier of the Invincible class. As a Premium Edition release, the ship has been completely overhauled to meet the very highest standards expected of a modern-day kit. The 20,600-tonne carrier was launched in 1977 and was commissioned in 1980. The carrier's runway is 170m long, including the "ski jump", and the vessel itself is 194m long. It has had an interesting life, originally being slated for sale to the Royal Australian Navy in 1982. However, the sale was scuttled when Argentina invaded the Falkland Islands on April 2 1982, and three days later a naval task including HMS Invincible was steaming towards the South Atlantic. During the short but brutal conflict to reclaim the Falklands, Argentina claimed it damaged the vessel, but this assertion was categorically denied by the UK.

Dragon's Premium Edition release is designed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the Falklands conflict, and the kit shows HMS Invincible as it appeared at that time. There is a lavish inclusion of photo-etched parts for components like the radar and railings. The superstructure is finely detailed, and the overall look perfectly captures this carrier's appearance while deployed on operational duty at this time. The sale of HMS Invincible to Australia was revoked and it was eventually decommissioned on August 3 2005, but it could be reactivated any time before 2010 if necessary. In the meantime, Dragon has reactivated the carrier with this stunning 1/700 scale kit, an ideal companion for the previously released HMS Sheffield!

- New Cartograf decal

Russia experienced heavy equipment losses in 1941 and early 1942, plus most of the nation's heavy industry had to relocate further east to evade advancing German forces. The USA and UK provided Lend-Lease vehicles to help their Russian ally in its time of need, including an astonishing 351,000 trucks and 51,000 jeeps. While Stalin played down the important role played by Allied Lend-Lease equipment, it accounted for nearly 10% of all Russian war materiel. Tanks were also supplied, including 1750 M4A2 Shermans armed with 75mm guns, and 1850 M4A2s armed with 76mm guns. Many Allied tanks weren't warmly welcomed by their Russian crews, but more capable tanks like the M4A2(76)W made a better impression with their stabilized guns, radios and reliability.

An M4A2(76)W with its more potent main armament and better armor protection is the subject of a new Dragon 1/72 scale plastic kit. To achieve the particular configuration exported to Russia, this kit has received a newly tooled turret with a subtle surface texture reflecting its cast manufacture. It also has a brand new engine deck. Finesse is guaranteed with photo-etched parts for items like the front fenders and tool rack. The complicated suspension system is represented in high-quality parts that are easy to assemble, while the T-49 tracks are molded in DS to achieve maximum detail. This M4A2(76)W is set to be another runaway success in Dragon's 1/72 kit series, and modelers will certainly not want to lend or lease them after they get their hands on one!

1/72 German Sturmtiger w/Zimmerit

- Slide-molded lower hull with realistic detail

- Photo-etched parts for engine-deck grills

- Rear exhaust covers made from photo-etched parts

- Main gun with multipart assembly for greater detail

- DS tracks

About the Sturmtiger

Germany's "38cm RW61 auf Sturmmörser Tiger" is more commonly known as the Sturmtiger. Based on the chassis of the famous Tiger I, it was a self-propelled mortar designed by Alkett. The first prototype mounting a 38cm mortar was completed by October 20 1943, with 18 such vehicles eventually produced in late 1944. The weapon fired rocket-assisted projectiles out to a maximum range of 4600m, propelled by vents in the gun tube wall that exhausted the propellant gases forward. The Sturmtiger was used mostly in defense of the Fatherland rather than as an assault mortar as originally intended.

About this kit

Dragon has created a 1/72 scale plastic kit of the Sturmtiger that is bulging with extraordinary levels of detail. Perhaps one of the most eye-catching features is the characteristic zimmerit coating found on the hull of this Sturmmörser. Even though the texture is very fine in 1/72 scale, it has been replicated with the utmost accuracy and realism. Indeed, this is the first 1/72 Sturmtiger kit ever to possess pre-molded zimmerit. Slide molds and photo-etched parts are widely used to allow maximum detail, while the tracks are made from DS. The massive mortar barrel even elevates and depresses on this stunning model, one that possesses real firepower!

About the T-34

The T-34 was an extremely successful tank design, being in production from 1940 onwards, and being the second most widely produced tank of all time (interestingly, the most widely produced was its successor, the T-55). Even as recently as 1996, a total of 27 countries were still operating T-34 tanks in their armed forces. Equally successful is Dragon's 1/35 scale range of T-34/76 tanks. The newcomer in the range is a Model 1941 version with a cast turret. As Germany waged war on the Soviet Union, a number of improvements and simplifications were necessary to speed up production. One important change was this cast turret introduced in 1941.

About this kit

It's not an easy shape to capture in 3D in plastic, but Dragon has beautifully captured the form of this cast turret with its three-directional slide mold. This allows the complete turret to be manufactured in one piece, just like the original item. The accurate turret rendering is due in large part to the efforts of a Japanese master sculptor, who realistically recreated the texture, dimensions and shape of the real McCoy. However, this exciting new T-34/76 kit doesn't just boast a new cast turret, for it includes a whole range of accurate parts such as an aluminum gun barrel, photo-etched engine deck grills, and numerous slide-molded plastic components. This latest T-34/76 kit will be another success for sure!

1/35 German Panzergrenadier, Italy 1943-45 (4 Figures Set)

The Allied invasion of Europe's underbelly began on July 10 1943 with the invasion of Sicily. What followed was Operation Baytown, the British landing in the "toe" of Italy on September 3rd. The Italian government surrendered five days later, but German resolve and resistance stiffened. Though the Italian Campaign was always considered a secondary theater for the Allies, it still resulted in the deaths of 90,000 Allied and 110,000 German soldiers. Gritty defense by German soldiers in Italy's rugged terrain led to such famous battles as Salerno, Anzio and Monte Cassino.

Dragon's fine new set of German panzergrenadiers poignantly depicts four men involved in this protracted fighting. The 1/35 scale set will have broad appeal, the mix of uniforms and personal equipment allowing modelers to portray soldiers anywhere within the 1943-45 timeframe. They are wearing a wide variety of warm-weather uniforms commonly seen in Italy, including the cotton herringbone twill (HBT) uniform. This alone makes them very valuable to figure modelers, but they have other advantages too. Each figure is shown in a casual pose, perhaps reflecting their exhaustion from the constant fighting. One of the figures is resting his weary frame on a chair, the latter being delightfully crafted and included in the set. All figures come with an option of two heads so that either a cap or a steel helmet can be worn. It was soldiers such as these panzergrenadiers who managed to hold up the Allies in Italy until April 1945, and this new Dragon figure set captures their look beautifully.

- New Cartograf Decal

Named after General Omar Bradley of WWII fame, the 37-tonne M2/M3 Bradley has been the U.S. Army's primary Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) since 1981. The M3 Cavalry version operates with a crew of three, plus two scouts. The Bradley IFV made its combat debut in 1991 in the Gulf War with very favorable results and an operational readiness rate of 90+%. The updated ODS (Operation Desert Storm) version of this United Defense vehicle

incorporated such improvements as a laser rangefinder, GPS-based TacNav, new gun barrel, and a rearranged troop compartment. The M3A2 has also served continuously in Iraq since 2003, facing the constant hazard of insurgent IED or RPG attacks. To provide further protection, an ERA (Explosive Reactive Armor) kit consisting of 105 box- shaped tiles was designed by GDLS and Rafael, and these are fitted as standard in Iraq.

Dragon has been busily working on a new 1/72 scale plastic kit of an M3A2 fitted with such an ERA kit, the perfect complement to the previously released M2A2. Each of the reactive tiles is fully represented to give the Bradley its unique look, and to allow modelers to create a vehicle serving in Iraq. It also offers the special armor added around the commander's station to provide him with 360ş protection. This also includes clear plastic parts to realistically represent this armored station's glazing. The rear ramp can be shown in a lowered or raised position, as can the TOW launcher on the left side of the turret. As per usual, this contemporary kit also includes a range of photo-etched parts offering heightened levels of detail. This kit marks a new "ERA" for the M3A2 ODS, and it makes the perfect traveling companion to Dragon's HMMWV and M2A2 kits.

1/35 British 8th Army Infantry, El Alamein 1942 (4 Figures Set)

One of the most famous British fighting formations in WWII was the 8th Army, which fought in the North African and Italian campaigns. Interestingly, it received its name from the fact that the French had previously fielded seven armies up to that point in WWII. Its fighting debut was on 17 November 1941 when it faced its nemesis Erwin Rommel for the first time. Under General Auchinleck, the 8th Army eventually halted the Afrika Korps at the First Battle of El Alamein, though the commander was to be replaced by Bernard Montgomery. It was under "Monty" that the 8th Army had decisive success against Rommel in the Second Battle of El Alamein (23 October 5 November 1942), though at the cost of 25,000 Axis and 13,000 Allied casualties.

Dragon recently released a figure set of Afrika Korps soldiers fighting in the Battle of El Alamein, and now they are joined in combat by some opposing "Tommies". It's not every day that 1/35 scale British figures are released, so this brand new set of 8th Army infantrymen from Dragon will be a cause for wild celebration amongst figure and diorama modelers the world over! Indeed, these are Dragon's first ever figures to feature the 8th Army, and what figures they are! The four soldiers are ideally posed for a combat scene, and they possess a range of weapons including a pistol, Lee Enfield rifle, Bren machine gun and Thompson submachine gun. They are wearing desert uniforms and personal equipment customary for troops of the North African theater, and the detail on these figures is simply outstanding. Their sculpting is top notch and they are bursting with animated realism.

Not only are they ready to face Dragon's Afrika Korps figures on a miniature sandy tableau, but they would make a perfect companion to Dragon's new 1/35 scale Sherman III tank. The victory at El Alamein was a decisive moment in WWII, and it was orchestrated by two of the best commanders of war. Modelers can now recreate it with these exciting figures orchestrated by Dragon!

1/48 Focke Wulf Ta154 Mistel

Special Features:

- Struts connecting Ta154 to Fw190 finely reproduced

- New MISTEL warhead installed on Ta154

- New front landing gear mounted on warhead

- Engine can be assembled with or without exhaust cover

- Photo-etched parts included

- Cartograf Decal

The British DeHavilland Mosquito proved highly successful and invulnerable in night bombing missions, so the Germans were forced to come up with a repellant to counter it. The solution was the Focke Wulf Ta154, a twin-engine attack aircraft with a wooden airframe. The Ta154 was to be employed as a night fighter, but the program was eventually scrapped with just seven pre-production and 12 production aircraft built. Meanwhile, towards the end of the war, the Luftwaffe was intent on using "Mistelgespanne" (composite aircraft) to attack large enemy targets like bridges and ships. This required cheap airframes, and one popular composite pairing was of an Fw 190 and a Ta154, where the latter could be used as an explosives carrier. A total of six of these "Sprengstoffträger Beethoven" combinations are thought to have been produced, though Dragon has just added another!

This fantastic new plastic kit from Dragon features the Ta154 with its Mistel warhead as well as an attendant Fw 190. The kit has brand new parts such as the warhead, and all elements have been produced to Dragon's highest standards. The front landing gear has been carefully and subtly rendered, as well as the struts that connect the Fw 190 to its "flying bomb". For maximum detail, the kit widely employs photo-etched parts, plus transparent plastic parts are used where appropriate. Various options are open to modelers, as for example, the engine that can be assembled with or without its exhaust cover. This is a spectacular model of a highly unusual subject, and it will take pride of place in any model aircraft collection.

1/35 German Cossack Cavalry (Two Figures Set) ~Premium Edition

The Cossacks are traditional people living on the southern steppes of Russia and the Ukraine. Famed for their military expertise and horsemanship, Cossacks fought with both the Red Army and White Army in the Russian Revolution, and they could also be found fighting again on both sides during WWII. The most famous unit of Cossacks supporting the Axis was the 15th SS Cossack Cavalry Corps, which fought against Yugoslav partisans. Dragon has before featured in its ranks a set of Cossack horsemen, but this set has now benefited from a complete overhaul under the Premium Edition label.

With their breeches, traditional headgear, and shashka (sabers), the two "German" Cossacks have a unique appearance. Of special note is that these cavalrymen have received fresh new mounts to gallop on! The horses are made to Dragon's stringent Gen2 standards, as is all the relevant horse- riding paraphernalia. This means the horses possess phenomenal detail, and form a valuable equine source for dioramas and vignettes. There is also a fret of photo-etched parts for items such as the reins and stirrups, which offer a maximum amount of detail. There are still an estimated 150,000 Cossacks enrolled in Russian military service today, but Dragon has succeeded in resurrecting some of their WWII forebears. This Premium Edition set makes an up-to-date and ideal pairing of horse and man, a combination restricted only by the modeler's imagination!

About the Falklands War,

The Falklands War was fought between April 2 and June 14 1982, as the UK sought to wrest its South Atlantic islands from the control of occupying Argentine troops. Victory didn't come cheaply, with 258 British servicemen killed and another 777 wounded, while Argentina suffered 649 killed and 1068 wounded. One of the worst British losses was that of HMS Sheffield (D80). This Type 42 guided missile destroyer was part of the UK task force sent to the Falkland Islands, and was hit by an Exocet missile fired from an Argentine jet fighter on May 4. The ship was set ablaze and it eventually foundered on May 10, the first Royal Navy ship to be sunk in action for almost 40 years. Twenty crewmen were lost in the missile attack.

On the 25th anniversary of the Falklands War, Dragon has re-launched the HMS Sheffield as a 1/700 scale Premium Edition kit. Commemorating the ship that was lost, the model is fitted out exactly as it appeared during that conflict. As is usual for a Premium Edition release, the model is lavishly supplied with a range of new parts to enhance detail and the modeler's build experience. There are numerous photo-etched parts to improve detail and add realism e.g. antennas, handrails, helicopter rotor blades. While HMS Sheffield may have been taken by surprise by two Argentine Super Étendard fighters, this new model from Dragon offers a much more pleasant surprise for model ship fans. This vessel has been brought up to the most modern kit standards, plus it remembers an important event in recent Royal Navy history.

1/72 HMMWV M1025 ASK w/ LRAS3 & w/ Loudspeaker (Twin Pack)

Special Features:

- Newly tooled loudspeaker realistically reproduced

- Highly detailed Long Range Advanced Scout Surveillance System (LRAS3)

- Doors can be displayed open or closed

- Includes GPK gun shield for gunner

- Fully detailed chassis and suspension system

- Rear hatch can be posed open or closed

The HMMWV first entered U.S. service in 1985, and it has become the primary utility vehicle of all branches of the military. The Humvee continues to perform vital tasks in combat zones like Iraq and Afghanistan, and the contents of Dragon's latest 1/72 scale plastic kit would fit either of these theaters. The kit offers two complete Humvee M1025 Armament Carriers fitted with an ASK (Armor Survivability Kit). The ASK consists of armored doors, bullet-resistant glass, armored seatbacks and reinforced floor panels, items that are essential when facing the threat of roadside IEDs.

This kit set from Dragon offers some interesting variety, with each vehicle fitted with different equipment. One receives a loudspeaker system, a piece of equipment often used by "Psyops" (psychological operations) units to broadcast announcements, while the other HMMWV mounts an LRAS3. The Long Range Advanced Scout Surveillance System (LRAS3) used in scout platoons has an infrared camera, laser rangefinder and daylight TV camera that can be used for spotting targets up to 15km away. In this exciting "twin-pack", the loudspeakers and LRAS3 are both completely new toolings, converting these Humvees into unique vehicles. The vehicles themselves are accurately designed and fit together with a minimum of fuss, guaranteeing a pleasurable build for modelers. Of course, these new M1025s could be combined with earlier Humvee releases from Dragon to create a fascinating Iraqi or Afghan diorama.

1/72 StuG.III Ausf.G Early Production, 3.Pz.Div. 'Totenkopf', Ukraine 1944

Special Features:

- Open window display packaging

- Highly popular and collectible item

- True to 1/72 scale

- Fully accurate mold

- Fully assembled

Initially designed as a support weapon, the StuG III interestingly turned out to be the most widely produced German armored fighting vehicle of WWII! Cheaper than the Panzer III tank it was based upon, a total of 10,619 StuG IIIs of all types were eventually produced. The StuG III had accounted for an impressive 20,000 destroyed enemy tanks by the spring of 1944 alone. The most common variant was the Ausf. G, which also happens to be the subject of a new release from Dragon Armor. Item no. 60312 represents an Early Production Ausf. G of the "Totenkopf" (the name translates as "death's head" or "skull") Panzer Division.

The model is expertly assembled, and is replete with the type of amazing detail found on Dragon's acclaimed plastic kits. This fully finished model is painted in a most dramatic winter-whitewash scheme, which only adds to its impact. The upper hull still wears a reasonably fresh coat of white paint, while the lower hull shows traces of its original sand-yellow base coat. This vehicle is a real combat veteran, as evidenced by the "kill marks" on each side of the superstructure. Manned by an experienced crew, this StuG III has accounted for more than its fair share of enemy tanks. This new miniature vehicle is filled with character - and color and would be an asset in any collection.

About the PaK 36
Developed in 1936 by Rheinmetall, the PaK 36 (PaK is an abbreviation of Panzerabwehrkanone) was a German antitank gun that fired a 3.7cm-caliber shell. Its first combat was in the Spanish Civil War, and it was widely used in the early years of WWII. However, by the time of the campaign in the West in 1940 and in the East in 1941, the PaK 36 was hopelessly outclassed and pretty much incapable of defeating the heavier armor of tanks like the French Char B, British Matilda or Russian T-34. The diminutive weapon's increasing ineffectiveness led to its nickname of "door knocker" by its German crews. Despite this, the 37mm L/45 gun remained the standard antitank weapon for many units until 1942.

In the second release in Dragon's new 1/6 series of model kits, the PaK 36 comes in from some loving attention from the company's expert designers and engineers! Hot on the heels of the first 1/6 Kettenkrad kit comes this plastic rendition of this common German antitank gun. The large scale allows all the intricate detail of the original weapon to be fully rendered. Every component is accurately produced to scale and construction is straightforward, making this kit a pleasure to assemble. To provide more options, ammunition and ammo cases are also provided. Modelers now have the makings of a fine diorama, with the Kettenkrad all ready to tow this 3.7cm PaK 36 into action!

The P-51 Mustang was first manufactured as a result of an RAF request in 1940 for a fast, heavily armed fighter able to operate at altitudes of more than 20,000 feet. The P-51D was the most widely produced variant of the Mustang family, and one of the photo reconnaissance version was designated F-6D. A total of 126 P-51D Mustangs built at the Inglewood plant were converted to this F-6D version. They carried two cameras in the rear of the fuselage, generally a K17 and a K22. One camera was aimed almost horizontally to the left while the other was directed downwards at an oblique angle. These specially equipped aircraft were used to gain vital aerial intelligence over enemy-held territory.

Dragon has released a fine 1/32 scale kit of one of these photo reconnaissance F-6D Mustangs. This is only the second 1/32 scale aircraft kit from Dragon, and what a fine one it is! In order to incorporate the installed cameras on the left and underneath, the fuselage has been completely retooled. The camera ports are made from transparent plastic in order to give an accurate appearance to their lenses. This high-quality kit is just brimming with detail, and modelers will find it fits together with consummate ease. Cartograf has also provided a selection of decal markings for modelers to finish off their Mustang masterpieces. This photo recon Mustang is ready to start clicking away!

About the Sherman M4A2 75mm, Tarawa USMC PT

The Sherman was the most famous American tank of WWII, and Dragon has introduced an M4A2 variant in its 1/72 scale range of kits. The original 31,800kg M4A2 is interesting in that it was the only diesel engine version of the Sherman to see widespread service, mostly with Soviet (as Land Lease equipment), British, Free French and U.S. Marine Corps forces. Because of its diesel engine, the M4A2 had a completely different engine deck and rear hull plate from those of other variants.

This M4A2 from Dragon reflects those variants fitted with a 75mm gun used by the USMC in the Pacific Theater of Operations (PTO). The kit features a completely redesigned turret and upper hull, along with many other new parts. The turret is produced by slide molds in order to allow the form and features to be accurately reproduced. Before now, manufacturers have incorrectly portrayed weld beads on the Sherman as being recessed, but Dragon has addressed this serious discrepancy and here offers correct raised weld beads. As with previous Sherman kits, detail on this one is excellent and accurately rendered, and to add further convenience, it comes with DS tracks. With this magnificent M4A2 rendition from Dragon, modelers will be able to recreate scenes from any of the horrendously bloody battles on the islands of the Pacific more than 60 years ago.

About the SU-85 Tank Destroyer

With a weight of 29.2 tons, the Soviet SU-85 (SU stands for Samokhodnaya Ustanovka, which translates as "self-propelled carriage") was designed explicitly as a tank destroyer. A crew of four operated the vehicle and its 85mm D-5T gun. Essentially, the SU-85 was a SU-122 assault gun modified by replacing the 122mm howitzer with an 85mm high-velocity antitank gun. It was obviously based on the chassis of the T-34 tank, and its heavier gun was needed to counter the appearance of new German tanks such as the Tiger and Panther. Indeed, its gun could penetrate the side armor of a Tiger or Panther at long range.

Dragon is proud to release an SU-85 in its 1/72 scale range of model kits. At first glance it may look the same as previous SU-85M and SU-100 kits, but first looks can be misleading! In fact, this SU-85 is very different, including a brand new upper hull, mantlet, frontal armor, gun and hatches. It also has the correct fixed commander's cupola with rotating periscope and three vision blocks. This model tank destroyer is produced extremely accurately in this small scale. There is also a variety of vehicle markings available on the decals from Cartograf. One set of markings even includes those of a captured SU-85 in German service. Thus, this detailed and flexible kit allows modelers to choose either a Soviet or a German SU-85. While in reality production of the SU-85 ceased in favor of the SU-100, Dragon has resurrected this important tank destroyer.

Dragon has been updating its 1/35 scale tank fleet with Premium Edition kits of subjects such as the Kingtiger, Panther and etc. However, smaller armored vehicles have not been forgotten, as demonstrated by this new Premium Edition Sd.Kfz. 250/1 Neu. The 250/1 Neu (Item No. 6100) was in fact the original German halftrack that Dragon ever produced, so it is very appropriate that it be the first to be upgraded to the latest levels of sophistication! The Sd.Kfz. 250 was a light armored halftrack based on a Demag D7 chassis. In October 1943 the complex angular design of the Sd.Kfz. 250 was simplified with the introduction of as many flat panels as possible to speed up production. The small halftrack was produced until July 1944 when production was switched in favor of the larger Sd.Kfz. 251 halftrack.

Dragon's Premium Edition kit has a number of completely new parts, including the lower hull, suspension system and road wheels. Indeed the front wheels are also new with two sets available - one made from eight-directional slide molds, and the other set from multiple parts for maximum detail. Assembly of the kit is eased by incorporating Magic Tracks, while the realistic tarpaulin over the troop compartment is replicated in DS, meaning modelers' efforts with putty or tissue creations are a thing of the past! The distinctive storage box doors on the hull sides are designed as separate parts, allowing modelers to display them either open or closed. This kit has been totally overhauled with a host of new parts, and lots of options provide more diorama versatility.

This year marks Dragon's 20th anniversary. Therefore, on such an auspicious occasion it is appropriate to release a special anniversary kit! And what more appropriate subject could there be than the mighty German Kingtiger tank, the mightiest of Tigers? The Kingtiger was a formidable German tank weighing 69.8 tons. Entering production in mid-1944, it was armed with an 8.8cm KwK 43 L/71 gun and its frontal armor was up to 180mm thick.

What sets this anniversary kit apart is the pre-injected zimmerit coating on the upper hull and turret of the Henschel Production model. Indeed, this is the first ever 1/35 scale model kit to feature this patented coating, which has been carefully and realistically crafted and textured to scale. Zimmerit is a unique characteristic on many German tanks, and instead of having to mess and fiddle around with putty, many modelers have stated a preference for having it pre-molded on their kits. Now Dragon meets their needs with this anniversary kit, allowing modelers to concentrate on assembling the exquisite detail found on this German tank. This kit is the product of advanced technology from earlier high-quality Kingtiger releases, and it also includes multi-media items such as an aluminum gun barrel and metal tow cables. Dragon has given this avant-garde model the royal treatment for Dragon's 20th anniversary!

Dragon's latest rendition of the Me262 introduces some exciting new features. This 1/48 scale Me262B-1a comes complete with engine details, meaning it is possible for modelers to produce an airfield diorama with the jet engine on display as though it was undergoing maintenance. This was a common enough phenomenon, as these early jet engines attained an average life expectancy of just 12 hours! This plastic Me262B-1a, a twin-seat fighter, also boasts numerous detail enhancements that often involve the use of photo-etched parts. To make this kit even more convenient and user-friendly for modelers, some of these photo-etched parts have been pre-painted. This kit is also distinguished in having its own set of unique decals from Cartograf to portray a fighter in a unit of the modeler's choice. This highly accurate kit offers modelers even more detail, the perfect accessory for jet setters!

Dragon has announced an exciting new series of model kits. Why are they so exciting? Because they appear in the fantastic large scale of 1/6, offering modelers unparalleled detail and realism. The first item in the new range is a Kettenkrad, also known by its more technical name of Sd.Kfz.2 Kleines Kettenkraftrad HK 101. Originally designed and built by NSU, the unique Kettenkrad was a cross between a motorcycle and a halftrack. Most of these fascinating vehicles saw service on the Eastern Front, where they could handle the mud and snow of that harsh theater. Many were also used by the Luftwaffe as runway tugs for their aircraft in order to conserve aviation fuel.

With a length of only 3m, the Kettenkrad was a very compact vehicle. Dragon's 1/6 version is even more compact, but it's just bulging with realism. There are many advantages in working with this larger scale, for instance it has individual track links that are workable after assembly is complete. Small parts like the Notek light, taillight, rear tow hook and sprung seat can all be reproduced in glorious detail. The 6-speed gearbox inside the hull is made from a resin casting in order to accurately replicate the complex shape of the original. This 1/6 scale model is just the right size to impress viewers, yet remains compact enough to display on a shelf or desktop. Naturally, the scale also allows the vehicle to be crewed by readily available 1/6 figures. This is just the first item in Dragon's new line of weapons and vehicles, but it sets a very high benchmark in terms of quality and accuracy!

About The Panzer III
The Panzer III helped form the backbone of Germany's vaunted Panzer divisions, especially in the earlier stages of WWII. To keep this medium tank competitive on the battlefield, it received a number of improvements in armor and armament throughout its life. The Pz.Kpfw. III Ausf. J, manufactured between March 1941 and July 1942, was the first model to feature 50mm thick basic frontal armor. The rear and engine deck were also redesigned since the hull was lengthened. The Early Ausf. J retained the 5cm KwK38 L/42 gun, while Late models received the longer 5cm KwK38 L/60.

Dragon's brand new 1/35 scale kit of a Panzer III Ausf. J was recently unveiled at the Shizuoka Show in Japan. This is a 2-in-1 Smart Kit that allows both Early and Late models with their different gun barrels to be produced. The kit is another masterpiece from the experienced Japanese design team, and because it's a Smart Kit, ease of assembly is assured. This kit is replete with a sizzling level of detail, and no effort has been spared in producing the world's best model of this Panzer III variant. A total of 1549 tanks of this mark were produced, ensuring that it was widely used on the Eastern Front and in North Africa. Its diverse use against T-34s and KV-1 tanks in Russia, or Grants and Valentines on North Africa's battlefields, provides modelers with even more opportunities in depicting this tank in different displays or dioramas. This range of options is enhanced by a selection of high-quality decal markings. This is an exciting new Panzer III kit from Dragon, and it easily maintains the impetus of Dragon's trailblazing Smart Kits!

The newest 1/35 scale kit completes Dragon's highly successful quartet of Sd.Kfz. 234 variants. This final version is the Sd.Kfz. 234/3, which features a 7.5cm KwK 51 L/24 gun mounted atop a basic Sd.Kfz. 234 hull. A total of 88 of these vehicles were produced between June and December 1944, before it was succeeded by the Sd.Kfz. 234/4 with its longer-barreled 7.5cm PaK 40 L/46 antitank gun. This vehicle was issued to German reconnaissance units.

This model kit shares the extremely high quality and accuracy of its predecessors, though it also features a host of new components befitting the 234/3 version. The 7.5cm KwK 51 L/24 gun with full detail is a completely new tooling, with the armored shield made to the thinnest possible dimensions subject to the limitations of injection molding. All features, whether interior or exterior, are carefully reproduced. This is particularly welcome considering the open-topped nature of this vehicle with a whole host of interior detail visible to viewers. There is also a brand new set of tires included as a bonus, these being assembled in "slices" so as to ensure tire tread detail is fully reproduced. With this kit from Dragon, modelers will be pleased to be able to equip their reconnaissance companies with the complete series of Sd.Kfz. 234 vehicles!

HMS Illustrious (R06), current Fleet Flagship of the Royal Navy, is the fifth vessel to bear this name. Known affectionately by its crew as "Lusty", the Invincible-class light aircraft carrier was commissioned on 20 June 1982 while steaming on its way to the Falkland Islands in the wake of the Argentine invasion. HMS Illustrious has served in a number of operations around the world, including Bosnia, Sierra Leone, and it participated in the evacuation of nationals caught up in the 2006 Lebanon crisis. Dragon has re-launched a 1/700 scale version of HMS Illustrious, this time as a Premium Edition kit. This means it has undergone a serious "refit" and "upgrade" such as the unique bow ski-jump that allows Harriers to takeoff with larger payloads. And what use would an aircraft carrier be without aircraft? Therefore, the kit includes a complement of newly tooled Harrier GR.9 aircraft and Merlin EH101 MH Mk.1 helicopters.

As per usual for Premium Edition kits, the kit offers both a waterline hull and a full hull, which gives modelers the choice of which version they prefer assembling. The radar and Goalkeeper CIWS are brand new items, and to provide greater accuracy, a number of the radar components are made from photo-etched metal. This model kit of "Lusty" is an exciting new addition to the illustrious Premium Edition range, and it does indeed make a suitable flagship for modelers' Royal Navy collections!

DRA7316 1/72 T-34/76 Mod.1941 German Army

Features:
-Turret with detailed cupola is finely recreated
-Well-detailed gun breech included
-Mantlet and gun barrel reproduced accurately
-One-piece DS tracks
-Slide-molded one-piece road wheels
-Photo-etched parts for engine deck mesh
-Cartograf decals with wide selection of markings

The much-vaunted panzers of the Wehrmacht wreaked havoc across Europe early in WWII, conquering all before them. However, when faced with the tremendous tracts of the Russian steppes, the massive Soviet army and its resourceful industrial production capacity, Germany began experiencing an acute shortage of tanks. One solution was to put captured tanks into German service. And with the T-34 being the most successful Soviet tank design of the war, this was a logical tank to re-enter combat on the German side.

Dragon has released a new 1/72 scale model of just such a T-34/76 Model 1941 tank in German service. A 1/35 scale kit of this tank has been previously released, and this smaller version loses none of its detail or accuracy. This smaller T-34 has received all the appropriate German modifications such as a Panzer III cupola on the turret for the commander, German tools and equipment, and a Notek light. Dragon's considerable technological expertise ensures that that the kit is finely engineered and very easy to assemble for modelers of all abilities. The kit contains DS tracks, which offer simple and convenient assembly. Cartograf has produced a set of high-quality markings that offer relevant German national and tactical markings. The T-34 was a highly successful Russian design, but on this occasion, Dragon offers a new twist with this novel "German" T-34/76!

1/35 Totenkopf Division, Budapest 1945 (4 Figure set) ~ Premium Edition

A new kit to our Premium edition line, all weapons (e.g. Panzerfausts) and equipment arerendered to Gen2 standard. The four figures wear different winter uniform elements, reflecting harsh late-war realities. They are also well equipped with Panzerfausts as the outnumbered soldiers seek to stem the onrushing tide of Soviet T-34 and heavy JS tanks. The Premium Edition figures are realistically and dramatically posed as they engage in bitter fighting around Budapest. They're just perfect for a late-war vignette or diorama.

1/35 German Das Reich Division, France 1940 (4 Figures Set) This release shows four German figures from Das Reich as they would typically have appeared in the French campaign. They are supplied with a comprehensive and detailed set of personal equipment and personal weapons (including the Kar98k, MP40 submachine gun, Panzerbüchse 39 antitank rifle). They come in very casual poses as they enjoy a bite to eat or a welcome drink after a long march, or perhaps they are relaxing after an intense firefight. A particularly unique feature of these figures is the camouflage smocks they are wearing, for such apparel wasn't widespread at this stage of the war.

1/35 Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.F2(G) ~ Smart Kit This kit has all brand new tooling, with only the tracks being shared from previous kits. Accuracy is ensured through research conducted on several preserved Pz. IVs located from around the world. Furthermore, this Panzer IV kit has been engineered in Smart Kit form, with extremely well-detailed parts using slide molds. It is also very easy to assemble.

DRA7313 1/72 Sherman M4A3 with 105mm Howitzer gun and HVSS - Armor Pro Series

The Medium Tank M4, better known as the Sherman, appeared in various forms throughout its stellar career with Allied armies. One of the lesser known variants is the M4A3 (105mm), of which five hundred were manufactured between April and August 1944. The 105mm howitzer gun was fitted so that the vehicle could serve in the close support role, rather than in the usual tank role, but they were not widely seen until towards the end of the war. Precisely such a vehicle has now been introduced in 1/72 model kit form.

Features:

-Newly tooled first aid box

-New DS T80 HVSS tracks

-Slide-molded hull bottom

-Sprocket wheels with crisp detail

Many parts such as the 105mm gun barrel and complete turret are produced from slide molds. New parts appearing on this kit are a new first aid box attached on right hull side and the T80 Tracks by DS.

DRA7314 1/72 German Half Track Sd.Kfz.251/10 Ausf.C w/3.7cm PaK - Armor Pro Series

The Sd. Kfz. 251 halftrack was a highly successful design, with a bewildering array of variants produced during WWII. The 251/10, for example, was a halftrack equipped with a 3.7cm PaK 36 antitank gun. This small-caliber weapon designed by Rheinmetall first appeared in 1936, but by the time WWII broke out it was outdated and ineffective against more heavily armored enemy tanks.

Thus, a number of these "door knockers" (as the gun was sometimes nicknamed by German troops) were mounted on the hull superstructure of some German halftracks to provide light and mobile anti-armor support.

Features:

-new one-piece 3.7cm PaK with hollow muzzle made by slide mold

-new roof plate for mounting AT gun

-armored shield with bolt detail

-gun cradle with accurate detail

-accurate gun shield stays and hand wheels

-road wheels injected as a unit - convenient to assemble and saves time

1/35 German Half-track Sd.Kfz.251/17 Ausf.C

The new 1/35 scale kit is a 251/17 Ausf. C half-track, a vehicle boasting a 2cm Flak 38 cannon. The gun was mounted to have all-round traverse, though the original conversion necessitated considerable rebuilding of the superstructure. Dragon Models has design and produce a completely new fighting compartment unique to this variant of half-track. Also, parts are newly tooled specifically for this kit, meaning there is no need for modelers to cut and rework the vehicle in order to produce a 251/17. Though the details and configuration are complex, clever engineering makes assembly a breeze. The kit obviously incorporates Dragon's highly accurate 2cm Flak 38 gun, which has been released previously. The overall result is a kit that is very accurate, and offers modelers an even wider scope of Sd.Kfz. 251 vehicles to choose from and build.

DRA 6192 1/35 Sturmgeschutze Crew Reloading, Russia 1941 (4 Figure Set)

About this title: This figure set features four highly detailed StuG crewmen that are designed to fit perfectly into any of Dragon's StuG III kits. It portrays crewmembers busily engaged in reloading a StuG self-propelled gun; three crewmen are passing ammo rounds while a fourth looks on. They all wear uniforms typical of the early war period, with the figures actually designed to represent a crew fighting in Russia in 1941. They wear sweaters and the distinctive jackets and trousers that were worn by Sturmartillerie members.

There are also two types of headgear included, both the M1936 and M1943 field cap, which usefully allows the figures to be used for any time period between 1940 and 1945. This flexibility is further enhanced by the inclusion of two types of ammunition rounds either the Sprgr.Patr. Kwk 34/L24 or the Sprgr.Patr. Kwk 34/L70 that can be used in conjunction with the figures.

1/35 3cm Flak 103/38 with Trailer ~Brand new subject in 1/35th!!

It is always a special occasion when a completely new subject appears in 1:35 scale as a mainstream plastic kit, putting the subject within the reach of all modelers. This is precisely the case with Dragon's new 3cm Flak 103/38 kit. Never before produced by any plastic kit manufacturer, this German anti-aircraft weapon is superbly designed and detailed.

Dragon has provided magnificent levels of detail on this more unusual Flak piece, with a combination of plastic slide-mold technology and photo-etched parts. The results? Parts, such as the photo-etched gun shield, are produced perfectly to scale. Interestingly, the same 30mm cannon was to be dual-mounted in the experimental Kugelblitz based on the Panzer IV hull. For modelers wanting inspiring new subjects, then the 3cm Flak 103/38 is an great choice!
