Hobby Hint
by Jack Hollander
I built this Tamiya 1/32 F15E straight out of the box. The cockpit was well designed and highly detailed: incredibly detailed.
I didn't need to add any aftermarket parts; however, the one thing I found lacking was the omission of seat harnesses. No big deal - they're easy enough to make.
I painted the Eagle Model Master gray darkened with a little bit of flat
black and used Alclad on the overabundance of weapons they give you.
They didn't skimp on decals, either. Alclad was also used on the exhaust
nozzles.
One of the missiles has a blue tint to it. After I primed it, I used Tamiya Gloss Black followed by the Alclad. Then I sprayed Tamiya Clear Blue on top of it.
The tiger strips on the tail feathers are hand-painted.
The nose of the F15 pops off to reveal radar and the antennae array which is on gimbals
and MOVES! Two other panels open to show the black boxes.
